Out of all the strikers in the world right now, there is only a handful of players that are better than Isak.

Ekitike is clearly better than Isak, and available most of the time, which is a bonus.

I don´t give a flying fuck about his transfer fee.

Well I do Notorious, in fact immensely, because of this transfer fuck up, instead of us retaining our title this season, we are now fighting to qualify for the CL next season.

After signing Ekitike Richard Hughes should have prioritised signing a winger to replace the superlative Luis Díaz e.g. Semenyo or a winger of similar quality. Anyone can see that this would have made our attack more balanced.

Why sign two top players to play No. 9, when you already have two other top players who can play there, Gakpo and Chiesa?

Remains to be seen how this blunder in transfer policy will play out.

well lol, you can´t really blame the incoming players for players that left and you really have to listen to Ekitike himself when he talks about his playstyle, maybe try leaving bed on the other side, it must be exhausting to start every day with a argument lol

We should have bought either Ekitike or Isak, but NOT both, simple as that.

The problem here is not Isak, as he’s an elite striker and a game-changer (when he’s fit), the issue here is that you simply don’t sign two highly expensive players to compete for just one position.

And this is something Richard Hughes has to be held accountable for, specifically why he didn’t replace Luis Díaz, but bought two strikers instead for £225m.

Personally, I think this or next season could be Salah’s final, so his replacement will definitely need to be earmarked.

There are other variables to consider such as what blueprint does Slot want to employ himself? We don’t know for sure however whether he will continue to be head coach for us after this season.

We needed the replacements purchased in Ekitike and Isak. But it’s unfortunate to what happened and obviously the very heavy price tag that broke the British Transfer Record. Diogo Jota sadly passed away. Darwin Nunez sold. Trent Alexander leaving, and Luis Diaz also sold, so a fair volume of change took place in one wave.

There’s a slight similarity to Man City with them losing Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker going, Akanji sold, Gundogen etc also departing, so the point being is transition.

The guys we’ve bought they will come good over time. We need for sure 2 wide men a new centre half and a defensive midfielder to strengthen us good and proper.

I think we are headed into another very big window next summer, this transition is not finished as evident by our lack of defensive options.

Robbo, Tsimikas, Gomez, Konate are all very likely to leave, we got another midfielder leaving in either Mac Allister or Szoboszlai.

After that it´s Van Dijk and Alison even though Alison has option of a year extension, I hope we will use that option.

Consistent with us, as soon as we sign Jacquet, he gets injured. He’ll be on the sidelines a while with a shoulder injury.

Watched him yesterday and he is a unit, big ol’ long legs and can cover a lot of ground quickly. Played in the middle of a back three. Made some good interceptions and his passing was sublime. If there was one thing that needs sorting (he’s only 20!) he’s got to work on knowing when to drop off or get close and got caught out more than once.

                  I’m excited about this lad.

They moved him centrally because of his passing range, to be more involved. Before he was on the right. He’s a stopper CB as opposed to someone like VvD who is a cover, so aggressive in the tackle. Despite “only” being 188cm he is very good in the air, think he has the best or one of rhe best aerial duel win rates in his league.

Yeah Rob they are comparing him to Varane but that is mostly because of the region probably. We need another 3-4 defensive players next summer, that is gonna be a outlay of about 200 million or there abouts.

If we get the midfielder we want it´s another 100 million.

Next window could be bigger than our last one.

Sure Rob, Jacquet looks promising, hope his injury does not last long.

Long-limbed, so good in the air and has pace. Needs to improve/grow as a defender though, to get him ready for the PL.
