The Nusa links could be incorrect and we are after his team mate Yan Diomande instead. Allegedly he has said he wants to play for Liverpool.
Maybe there’s a BOGOF deal at Leipzig. Remember those annoying window adverts?

10th January 2026 at 12:22 pm #236346nil I got to admit I just wanna snag up one of their players and make them into a champion. Semenyo is gone to City, we need to focus on someone for the right wing and it´s either gonna be bargain like Greenwood or a really big signing like Rodrygo or Barcolla. Greenwood also counts as home grown, despite his new Jamaican alliance. He is currently the best player in the french league, 22 goals in 36 games last season for Marseille, 16 goals in 24 games this season. He was man of the match against PSG in his last game, should have won the game for them but they drew after he had been subbed off.
The thing I like about him is his recent story, he fucked up, started focusing on stuff that really matters like family and the ones close to you. He has cut out just about any toxicity out of his life, focused on the positive side of life since he moved away from United. Has become a cultured forward since he left. I would blame a lot of what happened to him to a very toxic United side, not a single one of their forwards has done anything since leaving the club. Sancho sucks, Rashford is out of his depth a bit in Spain.
The culture at Liverpool is much more family oriented, stable households, I could see Greenwood becoming a lot better as his ceiling is still very high. Already knows the league and would have a point to prove over here as a footballer. I would love a payback for Owen you know! lol

10th January 2026 at 1:06 pm #236350Bingo, it’s a bit of short-term situation we’ve found ourselves in that can be addressed either unleashing kids from the academy or what we have in the squad already ala Rio Ngumoha. Even a loan signing as well. We’ve tried the auxiliary route with Gakpo, but it’s been kind of hit-miss with him.
It’ll be a waiting game of later on this month when key players start coming back. I too think it’s unlikely though that we’ll be doing any sort of business till the summer possibly with a different head coach and staff in tow.

10th January 2026 at 1:27 pm #236352Regarding Ngumoha. That’s on Slot imo. When he’s played he’s looked like an able youngster and should be trusted more. The more he plays the better he will get.

10th January 2026 at 1:28 pm #236353I know he’s not the age profile and we’d never go in for him but Bowen is still some player. Can add experience and supply (he can actually cross a ball unlike any of our players). He needs rescuing from the truly awful WHU. Wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg either.

10th January 2026 at 1:35 pm #236355Let’s be honest Harry, a 16/17yr old boy who had zero Prem league experience shouldnt be relied upon by the Prem league champions considering our ambitions.

He may have some sort of clause if they get relegated._____________________________

10th January 2026 at 1:45 pm #236357Dirty I think it´s more likely we will go for Rodrygo than him but depending on Salah, if he leaves I would want two forwards in. I kinda suspect Salah was also being a bit selfish in the buildup to the AFCON, not likely to take any chances that would mess with his hopes there but if he leaves we need two proper forwards in. We can not replace him, that´s never gonna happen but we could increase competition for starting spots and get the best out of our forwards even if someone will lose out and need another move. Half the forum is still stuck up on Semenyo, who all of a sudden a world class talent. Yeah he could maybe increase his goal tally a bit but he would struggle to get 10 goals at this level. He will struggle to get 10 goals a season with City. He has never been a clutch player, he has hardly scored in any of his cup games and that´s where he should actually shine against worse competition.
I just wrote the stats down for Greenwood which included some of his youth levels but he has double the end product Semenyo has, if we take a closer look at their seasons. Semenyo has 4 seasons in the premier league, compared to 6-7 seasons with Greenwood at a top level. Greenwood scored the same amount of goals in the premier league when less of a player than he is now. Greenwood has experience in the champions league, uefa league etc. Has scored goals everywhere while half of the goals Semenyo has scored are in the championship. These two players do not stand on equal footing as footballers, one is a hotter target now because of the history of Greenwood.
Then we can also compare him to Rodrygo or Barcolla who he is outscoring at the moment in the same league! Rodrygo is a squad player right now… I don´t see the sense in paying double for them when we can have Greenwood. When he is producing better numbers and being the key player for Marseille!

10th January 2026 at 1:51 pm #236358Taki and Origi could once come off the bench and change the game. Nunez too sometimes and this is what I believe we’re missing fundamentally.
Harry fully agree with your Rio sentiment. It’s as if he’s been ghosted.
Not that it’s narrow-minded, but we wouldn’t go for Greenwood with his background history. Balotelli wasn’t really malicious. He just needed guidance and a bit of love. Rodrygo for me definitely next summer and Guehi. Don’t forget about the young Italian player returning, so with the right backing whether Slot or somebody else, we’ll see loads better next season.

10th January 2026 at 1:51 pm #236359Rio is better than Sterling when he got his opportunity, he is way better… Slot should be using him more, especially considering the form of our forwards.

10th January 2026 at 1:58 pm #236363you know what nil, I think Balotelli would have succeeded at the club if Henderson and Milner had been captains then. Gerrard and Carra were different types of leaders, especially Carra. A lot of players when they arrived at the club got no support, that only happened after Klopp made Henderson and Milner our captains. They embraced every player that arrived, gave them the support they needed to adapt to the club. It did not happen back then when Gerrard and Carra were captains. Half of our signings got alienated from the squad for over 20 years.

10th January 2026 at 6:29 pm #236374I agree Ginger that we’re an attacker light. But as it stands we have what we have, and Ngumoha has looked better than ok when he’s played.

10th January 2026 at 10:54 pm #236380Harry, he’s a child.
He’s not even old enough to legally buy a pint.
Let’s stop pinning our hopes on a child.
Maybe 7th choice attacker at best.
Last season our 6th choice attacker was Chiesa.
My point being it shouldn’t be “we have what we have”

The fact we’re discussing the lad shows how far our options have dropped.
