As a matter of interest, Blaze, which of the above players don’t you think deserve to be there? It seems to me that a case can be made for pretty much all of them, either by having great seasons with their clubs or spectacular World Cups

The problem with these Awards is that they always split opinion bit like a Beauty Contest because beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. ?
The reason I went for Salah was because he was a complete surprise package last season nobody expected him to hit the heights he did last season albeit everyone knew he was a good player but last Season he really was up there playing at another level a level that put him alongside the greats like Messi.
Given that Hazard won the Silver Ball at the FIFA World Cup I would be surprised if he comes in last but there’s no shame in whatever position these players eventually finish in because they are all great players.

Not my call Chucky but as I said given that Hazard won the Silver Ball at the FIFA World Cup ahead of all of the nominees bar Modric I would be surprised if he finished in 10th position but we’ll see.

As Hightown rightly says you could make a case for pretty much all of them either via their club’s or in the World Cup and I think the World Cup will have a bit more influence than it probably should on the final outcome. It’s not announced until the 24/09 so we’ve got a while to wait.
