Unbelievable stuff. How many games now have this Real side been outplayed only to turn up at the last minute and turn the tie around? City been very dodgy at the back over the two ties. Madrid got a fair few decisions their way but what was Laporte playing at I’m the first few minutes? Going down holding his face when he wasn’t touched. Ridiculous from him. Commiserations to the City lads on here. Much the better side but again Pep comes up short in this competition.

Ed. You are probably more balanced than me about this but I have not been so furious about a result for ages. I didn’t see the game but they should hang their heads in shame not seeing out the game.

Ed, he lacks that galvanising charisma to instil real heart into a team which is so important in big games in the CL. Footballing philosophy wise, there’s no one better. But he gets too obsessed with the fine details of the game rather than galvanising his team to win in such competitions.

Probably something in what you say Mikus re Pep. Adlab, I realise you’re gutted now but it’s frankly ridiculous to suggest the season is over when you’re a few games away from winning the league. 18 teams’ fans in the league would swap with your team’s position in a heartbeat.

I’ve long held that belief too that Pep lacks that ability to rev his team for the big moments. His entire philosophy is all about getting the 90 percentile right all the time. That is great for winning leagues as they are about consistency. Knockout cups though are about heart and desire and this is where Pep has consistently been out-managed. He seems to think that you can always outthink your opposition, which sometimes you can but sometimes it’s purely about grit and determination and sometimes just doing the nasty stuff when needed, which Pep has never been about

No idea how casemerio wasn’t booked. Real have looked terribly ordinary at times v city and Chelsea yet they keep going and keep getting through. It’s really remarkable but I still can’t get over how city didn’t win that.

Guys, the result is what it is. I thought Pep put out a good team, that should have won but should have does not win games. The players will be disappointed as will everyone else at City, nobody goes out to play bad or to loose a match…these things happen and City have had a few late come backs of there own. My own opinion is that Dias and Walker have come back too soon but with Stones out injures and Ake not fully fit I do not think Pep had an option. This is not an excuse though. What matters now is to quickly move on, too much to do, not cry over a CL defeat, if they are professional enough that is what they will do and go and win the remains matches I do not think Liverpool will play the same way as City and they will win because RM will not like the Liverpool style at all

Brian and City Boy. I have now watched the match as I couldn’t yesterday. Giving away such ah important match like that in that way is just unforgivable. This is the trophy which is missing and constantly gets chucked at us. Our game management was poor …just inexplicable.
Truthfully right now I wish the season would end with or without the League. So so disappointed.
