I think Chelsea1967 made a very good point. Against European & South American opponents, we have more space. Not so much in the Premiership. Some of teams are very defensive but also the pace is much more intense. Not much room for Palmer during his dry spell. Hence the acquisition of Joao Pedro who is a pretty much different type of striker than Jackson. Much more technical to unlock defences. And Delap who plays physical to “bully” defenders.
I hope that Maresca & our players get enough rest as some other teams have already started their pre-season. I wonder whether we will be ready mid August when Premier League starts.
