Good posts above. I’d just add that I think with this modern intense way of playing, you only need to have a couple of percent drop off in performance to create a much bigger drop off in results. You also saw this with Klopp at Liverpool when they went through some horrible patches of form. It’s not just a case of dropping a few points here and there, it’s losing 6, 7 games in a row. It all reminds me of a concept called “unstable equilibrium”. Things can appear to be fine for a long time – but it can only take a small nudge or change of conditions for the whole thing to fall like a house of cards.
