maverick, probably but I suspect neither Big Sam or WHU wanted to go back.

Also Big Sam seems in line for the Everton job who are potentially a much bigger fish than WHU.

West Ham appointing Moyes has more to do with who was available with PL experience than anything else imo and currently he’s only there until the end of the season.

Ed, in a poll of West Ham fans totally over 5,000 respondents 90% didn’t want Moyes.

If things don’t turn around quickly the fans are likely to very quickly turn on Moyes in a way they didn’t with Bilic because he was one of their own.

Jim, the Conte text to Costa was foolish but it was confirmation of an agreement reached in the previous January between Costa, his Agent, the club and Conte that he would move on in the summer. Shades of SAF though outing players that are problematical and tbh I’m with him on it. Cheers 999

Rob, your guess is as good as mine mate but the summer transfer window was very disjointed.

Too many cooks spoil the broth? Plus a touch of “palpable discord” ? 🙂

Blimey banjo you even beat SSN’s to the punch with that one.

I’m surprised but not disappointed if it’s true.

Ed, that’s a great point and unfortunately exactly what will happen as this last sad case is dissected.

So sad yet another massacre just a few weeks after Vegas. The right to bear arms is such a strong opinion in the States it frightens off the politicians to make the decision they should.

Me neither Jim. Perhaps that’s the reason for my affinity for City we’ve both lived through the tough times and relegations.

Chelsea even lost ownership of the Bridge and I remember all of the buckets outside collecting money from the fans to save the Bridge.

Jim, you should it’s well worth it.

I read Balague’s biography too “Another way of winning” that one’s a good read too. It’s interesting to try and find out what makes Pep tick.

Jim, agree a the all of that mate. I’m currently reading Pep Confidential and thoroughly enjoying it. Still got a way to go but it already touches on some of what you say above.

If it’s not over yet but it probably will be by Christmas. Spurs, United,Chelsea and Liverpool all currently look like they are competing for 2nd place. Cheers 999

Jim, we were out to lunch today and had to wrestle with recording the City game, watching it without knowing the result and fitting it in before the Chelsea game came on and I just about managed it with the odd bit of fast forwarding at the stoppages.

Tbh mate although I feel like a traitor it’s a joy to watch your lads with the football they are playing under Pep. Cheers 999

November 5th today. It might be the day United,Spurs and Chelsea’s hopes of winning the title went up in flames on the Bonfire.?

Ed, I’ve thought for a long time that one of the missing ingredients at United was a real game changer.

The rumours surrounding Conte imo have been ridiculous and is felt like the media have been on a feeding frenzy. But the record at CFC for such things is not good and the press seem to be fanning the flames.

I would like to believe Rob Draper’s interview with Conte in today’s Daily Mail was a better reflecting of where the column and Conte are which is rebuilding the team after losing a number of big hitters over the last few years Anne that Conte has told Roman what needs to be done but this is CFC so you never really know.

    The Champions turned up.

Kante magnificent and Hazard and Fabregas not far behind. Brilliant header from Morata to move Chelsea a point away from United and Spurs.

Reports of our death were grossly exaggerated. Now for the 13 game winning run!?

nb, had I talked about Liverpool getting beaten 4 nil at Anfield by United 20 minutes before kick off you would have gone into orbit, imo it’s disrespectful and silly especially given the fact that Chelsea are Champions and this is meant to be a sensible football forum. Nuff said.

Still could go either way but what a difference Kante has made to Chelsea.
