    I’ll take a draw right now!๐Ÿ˜Š

Very difficult game Chelsea didn’t turn up at SB hopefully we can put in a bit of a better showing at the Etihad but this is City so I’m not holding my breath but we did beat City in 3 consecutive games last season inc the CL Final so you just never know. Although I think I do know.๐Ÿ˜Š

This only works when people are precluded from voting for their own players.

“The FA will block any attempts to reschedule postponed Premier League games during this monthโ€™s winter break.

The governing body were forced to scrap the break last year due to the compressed fixture list but fought hard for it to be re-introduced this season. As a result, there are no top-flight matches scheduled to take place between January 23 and February 7.

The postponement of 19 Premier League matches over the last month due to Covid outbreaks means some clubs now have multiple games in hand on their rivals.

The FA will not allow Premier League teams to play postponed games during the winter break

The blank weekend on January 29-30 would be an obvious time on which to play, but the FA are reluctant to give ground as they want Englandโ€™s players to be rested ahead of next winterโ€™s World Cup in Qatar.

FA sources have pointed out that they have already shown flexibility by scrapping FA Cup third and fourth-round replays for the second successive season to free up two midweek dates.

The governing body is keen for the hiatus – from January 23 to Feburary 7 – to be respected
ยฉ Provided by Daily Mail The governing body is keen for the hiatus – from January 23 to Feburary 7 – to be respected
The Premier League have no plans to use the winter break to clear the fixture backlog, but that could change if more games are postponed โ€” or if some of this weekendโ€™s FA Cup third-round ties are called off.

Four Premier League games have now been rearranged for the midweek nights of January 18 and 19.

But the FA have a prior claim on those dates if third-round matches are called off, so some may have to be moved again.” Daily Mail

“When does the 2021-22 Premier League winter break take place?

The 2021-22 Premier League winter break will take place between January 23โ€“February 7, 2022.

There was no Premier League winter break in 2020-21 due to the compressed season caused by Covid-19.

Will all Premier League players get a break?
Though the break applies to all Premier League clubs and players, there are several who won’t get a full break as it takes place during several international windows.

Because of Covid-19 impacting the World Cup Qualifying schedules, there will also be double round of fixtures in the South American (CONMEBOL), North and Central American (CONCACAF), Asian (AFC) and Oceanic (OFC) confederations to take place in January and early Februaryโ€“during the Premier League winter break.

The likes of Liverpool’s Sadio Mane, Naby Keita and Mohamed Salah will be participating in AFCON during the break, while Alisson will be on duty with Brazil.” Goal.com

According to reports the FA will block any attempts to play postponed games during the Winter break.

Sean, the Winter break has been around for a couple of years but it didn’t happen last season due to the disruption of the season by Covid.

    Some potentially good news Ed?

“Fabrizio Romano, speaking to The United Stand, has claimed Ten Hag has no interest in signing a new contract over in Amsterdam.

That bodes well for the Red Devils, who would likely have faced a huge challenge when it comes to his potential appointment had he renewed his current deal.

Ten Hag apparently wants to explore his options at the end of the season, while the Glazers plan to start looking at different managers from March.

He may, therefore, find the chance to manage United too tough to turn down – though he isnโ€™t the only name the board have in mind.” Express 11/01

United bought in Rangnick but he’s hardly managed anyone in the last 10 years where he’s spent the most of his time as a Sporting Director?

You wonder which Arsenal will turn up if it’s the Arsenal at Forest I can only see a conclusive Liverpool win and the tie probably being put out of Arsenal’s grasp if it’s the Arsenal who played City though it could be a lot closer???

Bellingham would be a great signing for Liverpool he will be expensive though and there will be a lot of competition for his signature from both PL Clubs and top European Clubs should he become available.

No fee, ยฃ120k pw and try before we buy for Coutinho seems like a no brainer for Villa to me. Let’s wait and see where this sits in May.

Thought Bowen was offside and interfering with play for West Ham’s first goal.

“Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy looks set to miss the opening game of the Africa Cup of Nations having tested positive for Covid-19.

The stopper had linked up with his Senegal teammates ahead of the tournament, which kicks off in Cameroon today.

Mendyโ€™s first assignment in the competition was set to come against Zimbabwe on Monday afternoon but now looks set to be on the sidelines alongside a number of his teammates.

According to reports, Kalidou Koulibaly and Famara Diedhiou have also returned positive tests, with the squad undergoing mandatory testing ahead of their first excursions in the competition.

The trio will now miss the game unless it is revealed that their tests returned false positives.”

In the long run going out of the FA Cup may do Newcastle a favour though as they can now focus purely on staying up which is no easy task and will almost certainly require a very successful January transfer window.
