Some United fans think a season in the UL will do them good as it did for Liverpool. But I don’t think it was as easy or as simple for Liverpool to reconstruct themselves as some might think. First of all, Klopp had to get better backroom staff in from the cooks to the coaches, then he had to cut out the negative players (ie Sakho), then he had to swap out average players for quality and finally, he instilled work ethic and belief in the whole club.

Man U think being in the UL for one year will do the job, maybe it will help but its not as simple as some might think.

Before I thought it might take United less time to turn the bus around but now I’m not so sure. I haven’t really watched United this season so I took it with a pinch of salt when I heard how bad they had been. But after watching them against City I realised they are light years behind Spurs let alone City.

They look unfit and they lack a lot of technically smart players in key areas. They got a lot of strong players but they obviously don’t have the endurance to run around at high intensity for 90 minutes. No wonder they have shipped 9 goals in 8 days?

Ole has to be given time and patience – but that squad needs training as much as it needs transfers.

Mr Mak, yeah I agree. Expand the competition even more to allow a maximum of six countries. Then we all get closer to a massive pseudo-European league competition.

The obstacle though is prize money. They (Ufea) have already received an increase in TV money form the big TV companies for the current system. If there were more teams allowed at the very least the current structure would have to remain the same so that nobody loses money from the current setup. If Uefa is able to get TV companies to pay more money for the extra teams then it could work, I think that is always the tricky issue for Ufea.

Good that Adam is back, he will hopefully give us a measure of creativity that we may need to rely on in Kiev. Adam has timed his return to perfection 🙂

The run-in is very interesting for all CL chasing teams, I definitely don’t think its done and dusted. Looking at the remaining fixtures none of the teams can really say they have it comfortable. Liverpool being in the CL could be a really difficult distraction. Also, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Man Utd all have cup game distractions too which makes the final games really interesting especially as some games are being played against relegation fighting teams with nothing to lose like West Brom at United who are incidentally Liverpool’s next opposition this weekend! Look at Spurs today, lots of questions being raised that their performance against Brighton was because they have an eye on the FA cup! Squeaky bum time has begun 🙂

I hope he doesn’t feature for Brazil as I want him fresh as possible for PL next year. But if he does play I obviously want him to do well!

Firmino is a beast, simply loves to chase defenders down, he actually enjoys it, whereas the likes of Balotelli acted as if pressing and tackling was a sin. Really under appreciated player!

Part of being a good footballer is knowing your limits. It was clearly easier to just tap it in but his mind went loco and thought he should chip it or blast it into the roof of the net? Know your limits, side foot pass into the goal, not even outside of the boot for this poor chap, gentle side foot only! As i said know your limits man! lol

When we are good henderson can be really good the same way Danny Drinkwater can be good. But he’s not a game changing pkayer that we need when the chips are down…that’s the problem… Keita will solve that problem.

Well said! Dont understadn this “Klopp Out” frustration, it madness! Said it before if that ever happened Klopp would have a nice holiday and then walk into one of the top 5 clubs in the world. Whilst we would be scrapping the barrel searching for managers. We clearly dont have the money or recourses that can tempt elite level managers like Ancelotti/Pep/Mourinio. Klopp is an elite level manager who could have gone to any of the big teams but decided that he wanted a challenge. And yes as expected it is proving to be a challenge, but as you said newbalance lets get behind him and the players!!

Looking forward to seeing him play with Emre actually, I think they would exchange positions and attack and defend together well. They would also support Coutinho/Lemar to go forward and do what they do.

Man that midfield is looking drier than a pickle in the hot day sun.

So far the midfield 3 have struggled to either win the defensive battles (hoffienhiem) or failed to contribute significantly to the team creativity (Crystal Palace).

The defence had taken a lot of criticism lately but I actually would say the the midfield 3 have been poor so far… Henderson, Can, Winaljdum are good players but they are somewhat similar in their range of abilities. None of them can really change the hand from an attacking sense…great link up plsyers but they don’t offer unpredictability and or dribbling skills. As such the attack has at times looked dry apart from Mane and Salah. I know Klopp loved those versitile players but I think he needs to invest in mote versitile players with game changing abilities.

Years later the Andy Carroll saga has finally provided some rewards, we don’t have enough time to replace Phill so he is not going to leave even if we did like the offer, selling Coutinho could set us back progress wise… Better to keep him and use him even if he is unhappy.

I feel it wood be a game of pass the buck… Barcelona are in a unenviable position, every body knows they have money to burn, if they give us 150 for Phill we would be inthe same situation as them, with everyone knowing we have money to spend, meaning we could get ripped off… If this had happened at the end of last season then I think it would have been better but it’s too late now…

Saurez is a weird one for me. I am of Ghanaian descent and the very first time I even heard of Saurez I was supporting Ghana at the World Cup in 2010 when he did this:

So when I heard we were signing him I was gobsmacked, I really didn’t want him, I even felt a weird sense of betrayal by Liverpool lol. I saw him as a crook.

But by the time he had done this, I had forgiven him and his cheating antics against Ghanaa were forgotten about 🙂

Of course, the drama didn’t stop there as we all know… but even with the Evra-gate stuff I still regard Suarez as the best player we have had since John Barnes. I loved his work rate and passion, we haven’t replaced him, to be honest. We need more people in our team with similar levels of skill and bastardtry 😉

Coutinho isnt going!!! FSG will look very very silly. They have already made a massive media statement, saying they will not sell. If they sold him, it could be the beginning of the end for FSG. The only redemption would be if we signed Keita and VVD but even then…

Yeah glad to see you here Mr Mak 🙂 I used to be on the fence with Sakho but seeing as Klopp never wants to pick him again we might as well let him go. It’s sad, so sad actually, one minute he’s celebrating us getting past Dortmund and then it all unravels, I don’t think the drug ban helped his mental state of mind. Nevertheless we have to move on and I think it’s best he goes so we can actually get some use out of the selling fee. If I had any hope Klopp would use Sakho then I would definitely say keep, but Klopp will not forgive this guy even in heaven. I believe I heard on Anfield Index podcast that there is NO defender in the whole of Europe who has better heading statistics than VVD. Another reason to snap him up.
