Adlab, as others have said, it’s City’s turn at the moment. When you’re at the top, you’re there to be shot at. The media are desperate for a title race as it sells papers. Clearly, a City loss helps make that slightly more realistic (obviously not going to happen). The City fans misinterpret the increased hope of a tighter race for some anti-City agenda, which is just not there.
As good as City have been this season, I think the whole “best-ever” tag assigned to everything related to City this season has been a tad overused. But that’s the Utd fan inside me talking and, just like you do, I see the things I want to see. We all think we’re hard done by from the press mate but it’s rarely, if ever, the case.

Have to agree with Hightown here. There’s been absolutely loads in the media about how much we’re spending on Sanchez. Sanchez’s wage goes up by about £100k every time I read a new article. It’s been done to death though about how much we’re paying for him. Nobody would watch sports channels if they just talked about the fee and wages all day, every day. The media have been pushing this “Pep or money” story for days which really doesn’t fit the whole United love-in you’re suggesting exists in the media Adlab.
As Hightown said, there have been so many stories about whether or not this City side are the best side ever and whether or not Guardiola is the best coach ever in the PL. All this without a single trophy to his name yet since arriving, mind. Hardly the sign of an agenda against City. Pep is much more of a media darling these days than Jose is. I think everyone is quite fed up of Jose now and are sharpening their pencils in preparation for the inevitable breakdown.
There are plenty of Utd pundits on TV but I sometimes wish there weren’t. IMO they’re harsher on us than anyone else. Same goes for the Liverpool pundits. Carragher and Co aren’t afraid to rip into Liverpool.

If ever 2 games of football summed Liverpool up under Klopp (and arguably going back to Rodgers’ time) then you only have to look at their last two games.
Devastating against the top sides at times whilst often falling to defeat when least expected to, after struggling to break down a stubborn defence and conceding through a defensive mistake.
It’s why I wouldn’t put it past them to miss out on top 4 but win the CL! They’re going to cause the big sides all sorts of problems in the CL if they can get past Porto.

Well none of us have any idea what he’s earning
BanjoChucky so not sure what else to say! The only thing we can be almost certain about is that he’s on a bigger contract than Mhki.Even if it is the reported £1.5mil a week then the above still stands!

Dybala is a good player but I’m not convinced he’s as good as he should be by now if he’s going to be a world beater. Did anyone read this a few days ago?
Paulo Dybala: Will Juventus forward turn brilliant into consistent? – http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/42715734
It seems he’s quite a frustrating player but Pep may well be the coach to get the best out of him.
Brilliant signing by City in securing KDB. I’m not crazy about the Sanchez signing but swapping a player who can’t get a game for one of our rival’s best players is pretty good business even with the extra wages added on.

Did I give you that pic Jim?! ?
If I did, I think I remember you using it elsewhere and I hoped your fellow City fans would recognise you quicker if they visited the site!

If Spurs were to finish 6th, would Poch be under pressure or should he not be expected to get any higher than that?
For what it’s worth, I’ll think they’ll get at least 5th and push the current top 4 close for a CL spot but, with Arsenal hitting form, it’s hard to call the order of 2nd to 6th place. I wonder which of the managers would survive a 6th place finish. Klopp probably would. I think Poch would too. Not so sure about any of the others

Every time I go on twitter it seems to go up by about £100k a week! We’re all quick to slate the papers when they talk about transfer rumours so why is everyone all of a sudden believing them now? I don’t for a minute believe he’d be on £577,000 a week.

Jim, surely Carroll is a smokescreen. I can’t imagine Chelsea would go in for him at all. It just doesn’t make sense

There’s absolutely no way those figures are accurate! £27mil a year before tax!
I never understand though why the media always quote our fees as the total fee including agent fees, wages, transfer fee etc but only quote the transfer fees for every other club!
Either way, it’s definitely getting out of control now though.

I haven’t seen Conte say anything about Sanchez wages being too high. I’ve seen reports that Chelsea won’t pay it but this is the first I’ve seen from Conte himself on the subject. I stand to be corrected though. There seems to be a real disconnect between Conte and the Chelsea board re transfers looking in from the outside.
Griezmann is another one that I hope we stay away from. From what I’ve seen of him this season, he doesn’t look anything like the player he was a couple of years ago. I don’t know where he would play either to be honest. He isn’t as prolific as Lukaku and I think he’d be wasted out wide.

Re Sanchez, Wenger didn't get very far with interest in Martial! Told in no uncertain terms it would be Mkhitaryan or straight cash deal. At this stage, expecting Mkhitaryan to agree to join #afc, paving way for Sanchez to go to #mufc.

Sky Sources: Deal involving Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mkitharyan would be a straight swap with no fee. #SSN pic.twitter.com/fUpuOgYzuH
— Sky Sports News (@SkySportsNews) January 16, 2018
Glad to hear Martial is not even up for discussion and it sounds more and more like a straight swap or straight cash deal being offered.
As much as I’m not that keen on Sanchez, a straight swap with a player who can’t get a game and almost the same age would be some piece of business. Surely can’t be that though. Seems unlikely.

Spare a thought for Arsenal fans as the rest of us argue about who does, who doesn’t and who should, who shouldn’t want their best player, all while having to put up with Wenger for at least the rest of the season!
Slightly concerning from a Chelsea fan’s point of view that Conte has no idea whether or not the club are even in for Sanchez.

I hope not PPT. I’m not even keen on Sanchez coming in, never mind losing Martial in the process! Mhki I can live without but Martial has a bright future
