Have to agree, Adders, considering the state of refereeing we’ve seen in the last few games, I thought Oliver was great in his game last week… perhaps it’s a question of “Better The Devil You Know!”… part of me does think certain ref “appointments” are more political than anything else…

I’m glad it’s all over as far as tonight goes. Frantic does not scratch the surface. I must be the only one not enjoying the commotion in what I see. That game wasn’t played 100 miles an hour, that was pushing Fast-Forward on my Video Button.

Argentina v France I suspect will be a good Final.
I would say France will come through but you just can’t legislate for a bit of Messi magic.
Also how good has Griezmann been? Giroud has rolled back they years and has looked dangerous throughout, in retrospect probably a mistake by Chelsea letting him leave in 2021.

Nine, he was on loan for the first half of this year to River Plate so you cant count that. 20 appearances in all comps so far this season is not too bad considering he has the worlds best striker in front of him.

Tugay. the majority of Alvarez appearances have been as substitute, no question he’s a very useful cost effective back up striker to Haaland.

I agree with nine. He’s a centre forward. He’s not going to play much unless Haaland injured. Real old fashion centre forward aswell. Runs his balls off and great finisher. Excellent player to have but his chances will be limited
Really hoping Argentina win today. Not a very likeable team but just for messi

Just seen that report Nine on the BBC Website. For what it’s worth (although initially I didn’t quite have the faith or optimism), I’m leaning more towards Southgate as I believe we’re moving in the right direction.
Personally, I think we really did have a good tournament. It’s such a shame we didn’t edge past the quarters. The World Cup effectively died down and it’s kind of been somber in spirits. We can though do ourselves proud and hold our heads up high.
