Indeed HH, we can talk about bringing on Foden but the fundamental problem is Mr. Gareth “Safe” Southgate. I know it could be argued that playing such a way is the best way of getting us as far as we can and then hoping for a bit of luck but unless there are no standout teams like the case of Greece winning in 2004, it’s not going to happen.

Yesterday’s England performance was primarily down to just about every player playing well below their true potential more than anything else.

You can make the argument that after the big win against Iran, the team didnโt have to come out storming out the blocks. Also the opposition offered a different proposition. But itโs ultimately down to the manager to prepare for all that. He didnโt and instead praised us for โcontrolling the game from the backโโฆwhatever that meant.

The prospect of watching and indeed sitting through England games
conjures up feelings akin to those of a Sunday afternoon growing
up in the late seventies during the depths of winter.It was all so dull and grey, nowhere was open and the only
thing to look forward to was the dubious delights of a
tea comprising of meat and two veg, songs of praise,
bath and bed followed by school the next day.The country has changed immeasurably since then.
We are a much more multi cultural society.
Most people have taken a holiday overseas rather than
spent two weeks in a caravan in North Wales or,
if they were really lucky, a bed and breakfast in
Cornwall.There are a variety of foods to eat in the shops or
restaurants and I am sure we all have friends from
different ethnic backgrounds.I feel the FA, like when we had the Alan Ball &
Stuart Pearce eras of turgid shit football week in week out
Southgate still seem stuck in that 70’s mindset.Despite all the work put in to develop the youth set up it
hasn’t seeped into the performances on the pitch of
the senior team even though the individual skill
levels of players have improved.I don’t doubt Southgate’s commitment to the cause.
You can see how much the national team means to him the
way he belts the anthem out, something in itself stuck
in that era- ‘long to reign over us’ and all that.Anyway, to me, it still feels like we are being served
up meat and two veg where as the rest of the

Chelsea fans love mount but opposing fans donโt see it. Itโs like Liverpool fans and Henderson . We love him but some opposing fans donโt see why.
I agree mikuis that mount is more in the team for his relentless work rate. He doesnโt stop but I think people expect much from him as an attacking player and a number ten
Rice and Bellingham are huge prospects. Rice is really becoming top class but Ida totally outplayed them.

Nil, England have sone really good attacking players. I think the tactics Nulify them. Rashfird has been excellent this season but he never plays well on the right. Pointless sub bringing him on the right

We criticize England (with justification), but just from the early minutes of the Argentina game (the team I have a soft spot for), they’re at best average. You can’t certify this even with Messi and a one man team because in fairness to him, he’s in twilight of his playing career (bless the guy).
