Could be Carrick. But Oliver Glasner, Xavi Hernandez, and Enzo Maresca have been linked.

24th March 2026 at 11:51 am #242440I have my doubts about Carrick but all of the others come with a risk anyway don’t they? So if we finish 3rd this season i can’t see how they could give it to someone else really. If Carrick is appointed full time manager then when we go into the summer we won’t be starting from scratch again. It won’t be a new manager with new ideas it will be a manager who’s already been on board for 6 months. Who’s got us back to CL football and who’s ideas are transmitting to the players already. If they back him in the summer he could hit the ground running next season and actually put pressure on the top 2.
If we get someone like Luis Enrique in then who knows how long it will take for his ideas to be adapted. Plus he has absolutely no connection to the club, probably hated us all his life!!I don’t know, i just think if Carrick finishes 3rd (think we were 7th when he took over) then it will be very difficult for them to not give him the job.

24th March 2026 at 1:06 pm #242442We need someone who is gonna come in and clear up the mess that been here for a few years.Enrique would get rid of all these lazy cunts, not a single one would survive. He would install a winning mentality, hard work, discipline, and won’t tolerate players strolling around like a bunch of old women. We have to move on from rewarding mediocrity, and go for the major trophies. We won’t be going anywhere near that with the current squad,it requires an complete rebuild!

24th March 2026 at 1:14 pm #242443Ever since the Man City and Arsenal wins we have been scraping results and performances as well as so many players getting away with below par performances and efforts. Carrick getting us into Champions league will help boost his resume and that should be enough to say thank you and BYE โฆ we only play one game a week yet seem to give flat performances with Carrick so what do you think will happen when we start playing 2games per week with him in charge??
If we can get Luis Enrique; I donโt care if he had hated us in the past because not only is he an absolute tactician, he is also a serial winner who always demands 110% from all his players and his players always improve.

24th March 2026 at 1:47 pm #242446Carrick has done enough to put his name on the shortlist. That’s all, nothing more, nothing less. There should be at least two to three other names on the list.

24th March 2026 at 5:19 pm #242451Dee – I don’t think you can say we scraped by against Villa when we beat them 3-1 and Sesko missed a sitter too. I agree that there are players in that squad who have the ability to revert back to the shit performances of Amorim’s time – but overall Carrick has got them playing much better football.
And at this moment in time all other managers represent a significantly higher risk than Carrick does.My concern with him is that he only seems to be able to play one way and he doesn’t always make the best substitutions. So there is a huge element of him having to learn on the job because of his lack of experience. And we all know how that went with Ole!

24th March 2026 at 9:14 pm #242467If a player has to decide between us and our rivals. The final pull can be the manager, would they rather play under Carrick or Enrique?

25th March 2026 at 10:34 am #242483Luis Enrique is a Peo Guardiola type manager who does well at top clubs with lots of money and great players, hence his success at Barca and PSG. And Spain, probably the consistently best national side in world football. But he had one poor season at Roma and left with 2 years left on his contract, and he had a mediocre season with Celts Vigo. Itโs the same old story, your Peps, Ancelottis and Enriques of this world are great with great teams. Personally, I have my doubts whether Enrique would cut it in the PL with United or anyone else for that matter. Iโd be looking at a manager that has already managed in the PL.

25th March 2026 at 10:55 am #242484Like Carrick?! ๐
I s’pose Glasner and Iraola have to be in the conversation really. Whoever can outline the best vision then should be given the job.

25th March 2026 at 1:05 pm #242487What Enrique has achieved with PSG shouldnโt be downplayed../ prior to their Champions league Success the only truly world class players they had was Marquinhos, Hakimi and to an extent Donarummaโฆ Enrique transformed Vitinha, Dembele, Fabian Ruiz, Mendes. He signed Doue, Barcola, Neves, Pacho etc all young players โฆ he got them playing and pressing on another level..
He got rid of Mbappe, Neymar, Messi, Verratti because he knew they wouldnโt fit into what he envisioned for the team. He managed one year at Roman then moved to Celta and what he did within one Year at Celta was the reason he was given the Barca job ..
He literally built the current PSG team with young and hungry players.. prioritizing team cohesion and hard work..

25th March 2026 at 1:38 pm #242490Let’s face it, the ever diminishing pool of managerial talent is going to be a problem for everyone looking to make a change this summer. L’pool fans seem hell bent on ditching Arne Slot but I still doubt that will happen unless they totally miss out on ECL football purely and simply because the options out there are so limited, same for us.
Then you look at the playing side and you wonder just who the fuck you would buy that’s guaranteed to hit the ground running, and again you’re left scratching your head.
Personally, I think the overall standard in the EPL is piss poor nowadays compared to 30 years ago, even bang average players are going for 50 million quid plus and getting paid 200k per week._____________________________

25th March 2026 at 2:07 pm #242493Dee, they bought success mate just like all the oil run clubs. And Enrique probably had very little say in the signings mate, itโll have been Luis Campos and his scouts. And any fucker could get a tune out of those players you mentioned.

25th March 2026 at 2:14 pm #242494I suggested Fabregas when they sacked Amorim bob. A risk yes, but he speaks very well, has done a great job at Como and someoneโs going to give him a go, sooner rather than later.

25th March 2026 at 9:48 pm #242525I watched him live when he was 16 against palace, JM. He was head and shoulders above everyone on the pitch. I reckon he’s got an incredible footballing brain and the credentials as a players to come in and get instant respect. he’d be a perfect appointment as I think he would buy young players and mould them to be hungry, fast, and technical. him at arsenal was one of the greatest midfielders the premier has ever seen in my opinion.

26th March 2026 at 9:56 am #242535jm1502 you have to spend money to be able to remain competitive.Just look@ Italian league.Enrique coming in would mean a complete rebuild, getting rid of overpaid, overrated, past their best pussies in our club.Just like they had to do it with the likes of Icardi,Ramos,Messi,Verrati,Neymar,Mbappe, and even Donnarumma! Maybe Lammens and Sesko would survive his plans, but the rest would be fucked off straight away.If we qualify for the CL,with the current squad,we will be torn to shreds.

26th March 2026 at 10:09 am #242536I remember when Enrique went to Barcelona and winning the treble. In his first few months the butter won’t melt look cunt Messi was trying to get him sacked. Obviously the media stayed quiet about their golden boy, imagine it was Ronaldo doing this?
Anyway, the reason was because prior to Enrique coming, Messi was playing as a number 10 or a false striker. It meant he had free will and never had to really track back. Enrique put him on the right side of the front 3, with Neyamr on the left and Suarez as the striker. Messi didn’t like this, for a manager this can’t be easy as Messi is a legend with clout at the club.
Fair play to Enrique, despite who was giving him shit he stuck to his guns and never budged.
