Lampard has been a massive disappointment there. As poor as they were when he came in, they at least looked safe. He’s somehow made them even worse. Wouldn’t surprise me at all to see him continue to get gifted jobs after this just because he was a good player though.

Benitez may have been struggling but at least he had the experience with Newcastle in that situation. Granted there are deep problems at the club, Lampard always struck me as an odd choice – they didn’t need someone to change the philosophy of a club, they needed someone to grind out wins. (Apparently Dyche told his players at half time that Everton don’t know how to win games). Looking at their run in, getting harder and harder to see how they turn this around.
