Nah Nil, it’s over. They should just give us the trophy now.
JK of course, it’s incredibly tight. We’ll have to keep our lads fit. If we do that, I think we’ll do it TBH. That’s a big if though and even with it, it’s gonna be incredibly hard fought. This is what we want though, a PL worth winning. This is why it’s such a brilliant competition.
City destroying Watford of course, so we’re only top for 2 hours but we are loving it 😀

Sterling & Silva were rumoured to be open from offers from City over the summer. But both playing a key part this season. The problem for a player potentially leaving City is that anywhere else is going to be a step downwards.

Yeah mak having your best 11 fit week in week out is massive.
I think city are the team to beat. If we have a bit better luck with injuries we have a small chance. If you continue being able to play best 11 each week you have good chance. But city are clear favourites for me.

Yeah Mikus, Sterling’s come back to life. I would say ultimately it has to come from within and that means the right attitude and commitment.

Ya LD, it’s a big ask to hope to have even close to our first 11 fit (given the injury records of our midfield). We can just enjoy it until the wheels come off 🙂

You were spot on about the level of competition too mak, makes the odds of either of our teams winning it reduce but the achievement even more worthwhile. Hopefully both pool and chelsea can keep up with city in coming weeks and keep this a 3 way fight as long as possible.

To win the league every team needs luck although the bigger the squad the more bad luck you can cope with. Interesting couple of months with the busy festive period, Afcon (2 games I believe if it goes ahead), Chelsea with the world club Cup (again if) Its all pointing in City’s favour but you never know it can all change with 2 bad results.

Three p’s completely agree mate.
I wanted to link you point to the observation of Sterling and Pep’s man management along with Klopp and Origi.
In essence, any manager competing for Honours would be foolish and selling their entire Team/Club short if they were not to maintain a healthy working relationship with their players. Some of course are going to need those one-to-ones and reassurance.
The fact of the matter really is that the player once on the pitch will have a spring in his step and give the team a Booster.
That can and has proven to be a difference turning a draw into a win.

Quantity is just a number, its the quality that gets you 90 plus points in this league.

Lucky that’s the 4th game this season we have played our best team. We have had multiple players injured. If we can keep that first 11 fit then who knows mate.
It’s a massive win as wolves don’t concede many goals. We fully deserved to win and we dug in.
People say it’s pointless moaning about injuries but nearly everyone mentions in their posts they are missing players 😂 so is that complaint or just discussing?

Sean, I think it’s fair game for discussion.
It’s not expected that a team has its best 11 every week. But unless a team has most of its key players fit pretty much every week its impossible to maintain standards.
If you were to to lose salah for 10 premier games I would say pool have much less of a chance of winning the league. Your consistency this season is not independent from the fact your best player has been in amazing form and playing every week for example. VVD played every game, Mane all but 1, these are exceptional Premier league winning world class players. With them playing every week as they have been Liverpool have a chance of the title. If your key players are out for substantial period that chance evaporates.
Threeps mentioned advantages of big squads but I disagree unless you have two Salah’s or two kante’s for example the quantity counts for little it’s the quality that counts. We all have squads of 25.
Look at the last 2 chelsea titles, both won through utilising 12/13 exceptional players and only won because they were fit for majority of the season. Exactly the same for pool title win and look at the drastic difference the injuries made the following year.
Complaining about injuries to key players is folly as its part of the game as gutting and devastating to the team as it can be, however pointing out injuries to key players and factoring it in to any analysis of the team is of course fair.

Lucky, I thought it would of been a given that when talking about big squads going for the title it was big squads of quality players. City have the largest amount of top quality in their squad. We all know the squad size minus u21 is 25. Apologies if that didn’t come over clear enough.
Liverpool can win then league of course, but they need to be lucky with injuries, arguably more so than Chelsea and certainly City.

Ye fair points lucky but look at cities squad. They can replace top quality with absolutely top players. So it’s like for like. Salah gets injured then origi comes in for 5 games. Grealish gets injured Foden/mahrez come in. Walker gets injured, cancelo comes in.
I get what you are saying . Kante is absolutely key to Chelsea. No one can really replace him. Salah, vvd for us but who is cities absolutely key player? Kdb didn’t play for 4 games and I doubt anyone noticed. They have so many different choices and the replacements are like for like. They can replace kdb and no one even notice as his replacement (Foden,silva,gundogsn etc)
The more players Liverpool lose, the quality drops considerably but I don’t think the same can be said for city and Chelsea cause of their squads so I get what threeps is saying as well.
