Personally threeps I think, like mikus that the salah incident was 6 of one-and-a-half dozen of the other but also that salah was completely looking for the penalty, the rudiger one was clearly a foul as klich kicked back of his leg but also rudiger was looking for the penalty, imo chelsea’s penalty was clearer than the pool one
But if it makes it simpler for you, yeah, rudiger cheat, salah clever…

Our penalty was very dubious for me. Yet earlier there was a stonewall turned down.
But if you want to see cheating you only have to look at todays Grand Prix. Changing the rules near the end. A bit like the ref adding extra time giving the losing team time to score. I mean that never happened did it………..?.Ed!

Maddison, again like the Salah one is soft but not a dive. Defender dangles out a leg like that into the path of a player then you’re asking for trouble. He was already in the air (as part of his stride) and yes probably could have stayed on his feet but he wass still illegally impeded so it is a pen. Obviously some will disagree, but he was definitely fouled whether Maddison manufactured it or not. Lascelles doesn’t needlessly lunge he doesn’t give Maddison a chance.
Rudiger is a 7foot giant who plays hard and takes players out for fun and then abuses them, then goes down at the slightest of touches on his ankle. Both of your pens were not just soft they were absolute gifts and you Chelsea fans are being very precious on this thread._____________________________

You are saying the defender was asking for it from maddison by “dangling his leg” and its a pen but klich kicking back of rudiger legs clearly and ref must have been paid to give penalty!….

Nil, on 50 seconds for the clip you posted, sorry me old chum but I see absolutely nothing wrong with how Alonso wins the ball. He did so cleanly.
LD, I think you’re a great chap but you’re a little out of order here. Suggesting that he beats his missus because he remarked about the safety behind KB.. thats a standard thing to say mate. Not preaching, I have also been out of order on here at other times.
I disagree with Threeps in that I dont think Alisson fouled Ings either. I think he was being pretty objective to come to a decision that went against our interests.
I think it was also Threeps who said that Salah was clever with the penalty and that’s 100% correct. I don’t entirely endorse it but I accept that he’s playing to win. Salah didnt dive, he put his leg in front of the ball before the defender. If people think that was an outright dive then I think we can accept it but we’re not going to agree and like Threeps, I do my best to stay objective. It is of course impossible, but the effort is what is important, right?
I actually had to go further on in the clip to see the Rudiger incident and this isnt going to be popular but, he straight up dived. The fact that there was contact, isnt the defining thing. That was totally meaningless contact, sorry. Salah was actually impeded, i think Rudigers raised leg was slightly tapped? Look at the replay, his raised leg barely moves… meaning that no force at all was involved. He threw himself all over the place then… come on now.
Look, it’s tough at the top and we’re going to fight our corners. Let’s do our best to get on, as we disagree 😛

Mak, LD did let himself down with that comment but it’s nothing that upset me. I actually showed my missus it and she thought it was funny in a stupid, sad thing to say kinda way.
LD seems to have taken on the Rudiger cheats, Salah clever catchphrase but that just tells me he is being blinded by his bias. Rudiger threw himself to the ground, Salah didn’t, he put himself between player and ball at speed giving the defender thre option to foul him or let him run on. Foxy made a good point when saying its something Vardy does and I think it applies to many other pacey forwards. It’s not a cheat, it’s making life very hard for a defender and that’s what forwards are supposed to do.
Think the topic has done to death to be honest. This site would benefit if Chelsea fans would take criticism a little better and be more open to opposing opinions. Calling Nil’s post nonsensical just because his opinion disagreed with his own was bang out of order and this is from a “moderator” who you’d think would know better. Couple that with LD’s performance yesterday and I am again asking myself if it’s worth bothering with this site again.

For what it’s worth, I havent’ seen a single peno this weekend (and I haven’t seen them all!) that doesn’t come under the “fishing” for it catagory so, if I was wearing my little black number, I wouldn’t have given any of ’em, and would have given them all a little yellow Christmas Card.
At the end of the day, regardless of it being “Bambi” Rudiger, “WannbeVary” Salah or “Opp’s, I did it again” Maddision, none of those were proper peno’s, they were all awarded on the basis of the “tart” involved fishing for them, and in my book, that’s kinda “cheating”… I know it’s an accpeted part of the game these days, but it’s a sucky part of the game. “We” all do it, and “we” love it when it’s our own “stable” doing it, and “we” scream like little school girls when everybody else does it…

That’s a bit harsh Threeps re the Chelsea fans on here. I’ve had many a good debate with them and they defend their team like any other. I’m as guilty of that as anyone. There were some very questionable pens this weekend, Utd’s very much included. I personally thought Maddison’s was the clearest non-pen of the lot (ie clearest dive) but there’s always going to be differing opinions. Can I just kindly ask that we all refrain from the petty stuff?

My take is something has to be done about all these soft penalties as it’s destroying the arts of defending irrelevant of who the teams are, I’m not saying you must go in with studs up but the diving tackle is a work of art and if it doesn’t come off should not be a punishable offense, the problem is every guy who gets tackled a
bit goes down like his just been shot and in most cases nothing is wrong with them. Defenders are now too scared to tackle and even with handball sticking their hands behind their backs which looks ridiculous and you also lose your proper balance to defend._____________________________

Ed so you are OK with lucky’s comment insinuating I carry out domestic violence? Or nine not giving nil the chance to voice his opinion dismissing it as nonsensical in a manner nil clearly didn’t like? Then on another post mocking his comment with a flippant remark about drinking. That needs to stop, alcohol issues if they exist with any person here should not be used to put them or their post down.
You can’t say a thing that remotely portrays Chelsea in a slightly negative way without those two jumping on it. One of the reasons I left for a bit was I said in a liverpool post that we would never pay what Werner gets at Chelsea and nine jumped all over it.
I came back because i enjoy debate from a mix of different supporters. If you’re happy with their behaviour then fine I will remove the problem myself by not visiting here again.

Threeps, looking back, no, I thought that was out of order also (what Lucky said). I’ll be honest, I haven’t been reading the whole thread so I wasn’t singling you out, however it appeared. I just happened to notice what you wrote about the Chelsea fans and picked up on it. The last thing I want to get into on here is playing forum police. So, I’d kindly asked everyone to move on from this now and try to avoid the petty stuff and the risky jokes as they clearly can be easily misunderstood.
