Thought Liverpool created much more chances then Everton but they did well first half

Great to win a game. We can still go up many gears so to be were we are is brilliant

Sean it is great where we are but it won’t last. I just don’t get all this talk about how many gears we can go up. For a start we would need to go back to the high tempo pressing game of last season to blow teams away but I don’t think Klopp will do that. I think this is where we are going to be at & I just can’t see us all of a sudden going up gears & blowing teams away again. We don’t have the midfield to play like we are & continue to win, esp v the top teams. Added to that Firmino is absolute dog muck at the moment & Salah isn’t much better.
As I said it’s great to be up there but reality is we are playing for 2nd, I can’t see anyone beating c$ty & I’m sure we will have a few losses in there.

“Not expecting anything meaningful to happen with Klopp. FA save themselves for Jose. Again media will let him get away with breaking the rules.”

Jose, the guy who brings the game into disrepute on a weekly basis? How many times has he questioned the integrity of the officials? Unlike Klopp, Jose has made gestures to opposition fans right after his team scored.

Maybe you shouldn’t talk about a manager who ran onto the pitch and celebrated his his own GK as if he is constantly breaking the rules because it may mean that yours has to get the electric chair for it.

Mak, but Klopp does break the rules just as much as Jose. Just doesn’t get punished for it.

            Pep is the same.

In fact Jose used examples if their behaviour when fighting his latest FA charge.

Sean – you might be right mate, Liverpool probably did create more chances. I was watching it on and off, but I thought Everton had a lot of teh ball and got forward well. They probably had the best chance, with the header from a few yards out too.

Was really surprised when I saw the stats after the game which showed that Liverpool had more shots, possession and everything else.

Usually Everton set up to avoid a heavy defeat (in the derby), so maybe it was more that they were positive for once that skewed my thoughts!

Ye Alfie I was very suprised at Everton to be honest mate. They had a good go but good goal keeping kept us in it in the 1st half. We had a lot of ball 2nd half but they still looked dangerous

Gomes controlled the midfield. Looks a very good player. Everyone best player on the day.

I loved klopps celebrations yday. Last min bizarre goal in a derby but I’ve said it before, he gets away with things

He’s constantly in the 4th officials ear. He’s screaming and shouting and I don’t know how he’s not been sent to the stands yet.

Klopp is loved by reds fans. He identifies with the club, city and fans. He knows what it means to manage us and that’s why we love him

My worry is his tenure will end with no trophies. The club has lost its last 4 finals 3 with klopp

He has lost his last 6 finals. Be very disappointing if he leaves without us winning anything as this is the best shape the club had been in and off the pitch for years

Very honest assessment of Klopp Sean although I think that Liverpool are a smidgen away from winning a trophy under Klopp.

With some decent draws if Klopp’s take it seriously I fancy Liverpool for the FA Cup this season and they are still in the CL and hanging on to City in the PL. Although I do think Klopp will need to deliver a trophy by the end of the 2019/2020 season and I think he probably will.

I hate to be that guy but have you got anything to back this up? I know that this is a difficult thing to back up and am not just putting down a blocker but it’s just that this is such an inaccurate statement. I say this with respect ok but you couldn’t be more wrong here. Jose is by far the most controversial, rule breaking manager in top level football. He has no respect for any person or rule, as long as they in the way of his objectives. He’s known for winning titles, He has a great career behind him. However, he’s also a notoriously unsporting, bitter person. To suggest that Klopp or Pepe are as bad as him is a deep insult to them both. It pisses me off that Pepe has built an indestructible, unstoppable side who will win the title regardless of what Klopp does but the man is a gent. Has he broken rules before? Sure he has, all managers have had bad days but Jose is a bad person. That’s the difference.

Sean, I will admit that there are times when Klopp seems to cross a line with officials. He’s not perfect and the good emotions come out of passionate people just as the negative ones also. I would know this, I am also a passionate person (I know you are surprised, admit it.).

It still doesn’t come close to Jose with regards to how often they each break the rules. It’s not even close to close.

“My worry is his tenure will end with no trophies. The club has lost its last 4 finals 3 with klopp”

Finals are much more about psychology than your run of the mill games. This is when your leaders stand up to be counted. As you know, I don’t rate Henderson as a leader and it’s definitely a factor for me when looking at the 3 final losses. In the last one we had Van Dijk on the field, which you could argue should be enough. he’s been developing more and more as a leader amongst the group this season but I definitely feel that it helps the process to make it official. That is only one small aspect and you lose finals based on a lot more (obviously).. only saying this because I don’t look at those games and think “bloody Henderson”, to be clear.

Could Klopp leave without a cup, absolutely. Does that change the fact that he’s maybe the best manager we’ve had in decades? Not for me. The proof is in the pudding I guess but it’s a bit of a freak occurrence that the best PL side ever has come along at the same time as our current project comes towards meeting it’s potential. I’ve spoken before about how we have more in the tank with regards to potential than City. They blossomed before us and we’re still working out kinks. can we hope to be better than them if/when we can finally say that our potential is now our ability? That’s the downside to potential, you don’t usually reach your maximum. I think to be better than City, we would have to do just that.

Klopp isn’t a quitter though and this “7 years” thing is only a coincidence. A time when he’s felt that there was nothing left for him at those jobs. If by the end of next season we’re better than we are now but still looking to end the term without a trophy, I can imagine Klopp working even harder to push this side further. have you considered that maybe Pepe is the one that won’t be here by then?

to add insult to injury following yesterdays disgraceful performance from spurs, unfortunately one of the “fans” decided to take it upon himself and tried to take football back to the 80’s by throwing a banana at aubameyang whilst he celebrated. thankfully the scumbag has been identified and arrested and spurs have banned him indefinitely from attending all games. this behaviour has absolutely no place is football and its really shameful. good on the club for acting so quickly and hopefully the police will treat it seriously as well.

Mak, Mourinho is not Klopp but had Mourinho done what Klopp did yesterday there would I suspect have been a much greater media outcry to it.

Whatever the circumstances I don’t think you can have Managers running on to the pitch whilst a game is in process celebrating goals and this is not the first time Klopp has done this he did it in an away game at Norwich a while back too.

The FA have to charge Klopp for his actions and sanction him to ensure balance and to ensure such things don’t become the norm.

Klopp is like a kid at Christmas on the touch line. He just loves the fun of it all even if he ain’t winning. I thought the interview Sarri gave about him told you everything about him:

“Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has lifted the lid of standing next to Jurgen Klopp on the touchline, after the Italian shared a discussion he and the Liverpool boss had at Stamford Bridge last month.

Sarri’s side were moments away from a crucial three points over the Reds before Daniel Sturridge’s late equaliser rescued a point for the away side.

But despite staring defeat in the face in the closing stages, Klopp kept smiling – as the former Napoli coach recalled warmly.

“There are moments when the grand spectacle of it all convinces you to put aside any regrets,” he told Corriere dello Sport. “Even if you concede at the last minute or five minutes into stoppage time.

“That was an extraordinary show. Just 10 minutes earlier, I saw Klopp looking at me with the game going on.

“I asked: ‘Why are you smiling?’ He replied: ‘Aren’t you having fun?’

“I said: ‘so much’ and he added: ‘me too.’ He was losing at the time.

“Even after the equaliser, remembering that moment, we hugged like two old friends.

“I’m sure he would’ve done the same even if Liverpool hadn’t equalised.

managers should be charged the moment they step out of the technical area. i think the klopp situation is one that supporters of them team will love and everyone else will criticise. if we had beaten arsenal in the 96th minute i would love it if poch ran on the pitch to celebrate. however it was liverpool and klopp and therefore he is a scumbag who can do one and i hope he gets charged by the police.

It’s a silly rule, made even sillier by the lack of enforcement. During yesterday’s game at the hemorrhoid’s stadium, Emery was warned about leaving the “box”, so he walked back inside the box, and promptly turned around and walked straight back outside again… even the commentators on my TV were laughing…

Off course, being manager of the filth this should mean an automatic 58 game suspension and will be made to eat Pie & Mash for every meal until seasons end! 🙂

“he did it in an away game at Norwich a while back too.”

To be clear, the while back was almost 3 years ago. All the time in between we have Klopp not running onto the pitch. How many times in those 3 years has Jose called into question the referees integrity? I don’t want to trawl through looking for that but you know it’s going to be a huge number, right?

I’m not saying that managers should be running onto pitches but we should be comparing apples to apples and even though you could rightly say that Klopp will break or ride close to breaking the rules sometimes, Jose is another kind of animal altogether.

The core of this for me is that I find any comparison between the 2 men, offensive.
