Sensible team selection from Slot. The team has to learn to play without Salah and he just doesn’t justify a starting spot at the moment.

I know Gakpo scored and assisted in the last game, but why Chiesa doesn’t get a run-out, is a mystery.

Sunderland the better side so far. There is no fear factor at anfield. Lots of loose passes again in midfield. No press worth talking about. Wirtz has had some bright moments but this is drab

Salah’s omission is brave and right. But Chiesa not getting his chance is crazy.
Intensity is too low, little movement off the ball and slow transitions. All in all, predictable and easy to defend.
Wirtz and Allison only positives so far. Isak will score if he gets a pass.

looks like slot has gone back to his previous tactics to flood the attacking third with all the players…. Just isn’t working. At least we have not conceded, just.

appreciate Sunderland are sitting very deep, but there’s just no invention at all.

Take off Gakpo, who’s back to his usual cut in and attempt shot. I’d take him off for Rio or Chiesa.

Isak getting zero service, and I’m not sure what szobo is doing on the right wing!!

Fulcrum it’s been that way all season.

We’ve done ok here but still too slow on the build up and too many balls are sideways instead of forward which slows things down further.

Slot was this slow patient build up though.

Gakpo drives me insane. Fulcrum, ill be astonished if chiesa comes on for gakpo mate. Absolutely the right call but slot wont do that

Its slow and ponderous. No intensity and absolutely dreadful to watch

Plus is its 0-0 but really think we coykd lose this. Its awful

Pretty poor stuff to be honest. Lucky with their effort against the bar, unlucky with MacAllister’s effort against the post, not much else to be excited about. Sunderland probably edged it. Liverpool too slow and too many sideways passes.
