Only watched MOTD highlights. Thought Sunderland were lucky not to have a man sent off. That said it was very poor performance and certainly emphasised recruitment needed.

Diggy – I think that’s probably the good thing about limping to 3rd place because it shows exactly how much recruitment we need this summer. If Carrick had have won every game with great performances maybe they would have just signed the equivalent of Fred, Dalot and Lee Grant! But he hasn’t, they’ve struggled a lot in most games. So it should mean we sign up to 6 players this summer.

We definitely need to sign 6 players during the summer. Last 2 season 68pts would have got us 4th place. Considering the extra fixtures and other teams may perform better we will need a much stronger squad to pick from.

Jumpers – We’d probably have a lot more points if we’d had a Carrick type manager from the beginning of the season though. Carrick has an average of 2.2 points per game since he came in. Across a whole season, which probably isn’t really sustainable, he’d have accumulated around 83 points.
Would we have lost to Everton and drawn twice with West Ham, Burnley and Wolves with Carrick in charge? That’s 11 points pissed away because we had 3 centre backs for no reason!_____________________________

I’m never really one for calling for a manager to be sacked because I think a lot of them would have done better with more time. Like Arteta has done. Plus every time we start all over again I think we slip further behind our rivals.
But we sacked Amorim and now Carrick is doing a great job but you’d still get rid of him and start all over again!_____________________________
