No defensive midfielder for us in this window, because it seems Iraola thinks that Nyoni can fill this role, or at least grow into it.

Remains to be seen if he’s right.

Sangaré and Camara were/are available for very reasonable prices, but it seems Liverpool were not interested in them, for whatever reason.

The question shouldn’t be why can’t he get rid of these players, the question should be why put them on such long, expensive contracts in the first place. Something Edwards was particularly prone to do.

But asking these questions is moot at this point, the issue is they are here, unlikely to go, do it is what it is.

I heard this on another forum and could have already been discussed here in the past….

The rumours are the signings we made last year were all signings made with the adidas sponsorship money and they only signed players who were sponsored by adidas!! No doubt a nice brown envelope each time for Edwards and hughes.

Probably nonsense, but could answer some questions regarding the players and suitability of these players who were signed.

lads you are underestimating the squad, basically listening to everyone that has stated that we do not have a right winger, despite seeing Rio, Munoz and Gakpo play there. Same posters are stating that Gravy is not a number 6 despite there being a few interviews with the lad himself explaining the difference in tactics from one season to the next. It´s not hard to tell him to stop roaming forward and sit in midfield. You tell him that and voila we got a 100 million number 6.

The only thing I am gonna predict is a bad run in the cups.

Seems to be lots of briefings out there at the min that LFC expect to have a quiet final day and Marma not moving.

Now, we’ve heard that before in other transfer windows but I wouldn’t be surprised that’s true today.

If so, expect a battle for CL spots this season.

All the players who you mention to play on the right ate better on the left which is their actual position. Is it really that hard to understand for some.

Id actually play endo cause he actually has a bit of bollox and fight. Other 3 arent up for a physical battle. Macca tries to be aggressive but is rolling around half the time

I’d have to agree with Sean’s sentiments. This is the reality of where we are and where the work needs to be invested in. Frimpong and Kerkez don’t look like 90 min players. We’re still quite dry on goals because of different areas of the pitch where they used to come from before and don’t any longer. One example: Midfield, albeit Zobo.

Frame this to one side: You look at Rodgers’ Team 2013/14 and we had a flurry of goals coming from Suarez, Sturridge, Sterling, Gerrard, Coutinho; with now and then contributions from Lovren, Skirtel, and Emre Can.

This outweighed many a time our leaky defence so it was enough for a Title charge playing only 1 game a week.

Iraola has Champions League which I’m sure he will want to succeed in, but all the time on his mind, he’ll be thinking whether he’ll have a fit enough 11 available for selection.

Sure, we are moving in the right direction since May, but we are still short of a fully functional 11 we can really be filled with Confidence.

Sean, hopefully Bradley back in next few weeks and also Gomez back as well. I’d be happy for Aurajo to play and provide real bite. I think Frompong needs to be taken out of the limelight for a few games. Szobo to play right wing? I also think Munoz has been better on the right than the left for us so far. I would love another CM – Camara would be perfect. I’d also love Nico Williams to come back and cover left and right

Sean I’ll admit that as that is the only positions I’ve been complaining about this window, we have looked more solid on the left though. Kerkez could be a real player for us even if I’m not a fan of his crossing but he connects with his left forward more often than not.

Frimpong on the other hand is not showing me anything but that might change if we settle on what right winger we want to use.
