https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCH4bigyn20 Here is a clip for Rob, Iยดll take his word for this kid just based on this short clip.
He is actually quite intimidating as a goalie! That reach of his is phenomenal.

31st August 2026 at 5:22 pm #255316I would like to see more of his footwork but I understand why we paid for him, he makes the goal look small.

31st August 2026 at 5:26 pm #255317Left
Salah
Robertson
Konate
JonesLong term injuries since last window
Bradley
EkitikeReplaced with
Barcola
Munoz
Araujo (on loan)
Tsimikas (previously loaned out as he wasnโt as good as Robertson)After a poor prior year as well. Just underwhelming and not good enough. Where is the leadership of this team coming from when VVD and Alisson leave at the end of the season? This has been a monumental f up of a squad rejuvenation.
Sorry to be so negative but look at the players we have. McAllister isnโt suddenly going to become mobile. Next summer we will potentially need a new keeper, central defender and central midfielder plus we still donโt have a right winger- how much is that going to cost and will they even do it?
I hope this post ages badly by tomorrow night or we are in for a very mediocre season..

The most amazing thing to me is why on earth Hughes wasnt put on ‘gardening leave’ while he was actively negotiating his exit and the rumoured deals he was involved in for his new club? That is madness and no wonder our window has been so bad.

31st August 2026 at 5:34 pm #255321Cody’s staying. Some may think I’m Bananas, but I’m so glad the bid has been rejected. This dude for all the criticism he receives has goals and assists.
He’d be I would imagine more of a squad player at City.
Anyhow, he stays. Now we need to work on him to link up more with Isak.

31st August 2026 at 5:35 pm #255322I’ve asked Mark at the Academy for a bit more about him but judging by clips his spatial awareness and footwork are well defined for such a young lad, positioning as an extra defender very good, extension and blocks, elite, cross mgmt A-, 1v1’s not seen much but uses his spread well, comfort with the ball at his feet and range of distribution to all four zones at Kelleher’s level in fact he reminds of Kelleher, just a taller, more gangly version. One aspect he WILL need to work on is his physical side which he will with growth, a bespoke periodisation ILP (individual learning plan) and just being at a more demanding training environment under Rosalen and Mark.
I like him.

31st August 2026 at 5:40 pm #255325The Online platforms purport to be ‘inside information’ and intelligence.
Nobody really on here to dig out. It is what it is. There’s complexities sometimes than something that appears straight-forward. There are experienced Business people that have a way to operate around fee negotiations not to mention terms and conditions. Even if it means saving 20 Million, that’s a lot of money.
Anyway, this time tomorrow, it’ll all be over and we can start looking ahead with a lot more excitement to the fixtures we will be facing. We have Champions League Football too ๐

31st August 2026 at 5:48 pm #255327I think we’re done now on any incomings.
Wings we have Barcola, Rio, Gakpo, Munoz. I think Iraola will rotate Rio and Barcola on the left and use Gakpo more on the right (and as a back up 9) with Munoz. Other available slot ins are Wirtz (left), Frimpong and Szobo (right). Lots of switching flanks too as Iraola likes to do.
Not ideal but I think that’s us done.

31st August 2026 at 5:50 pm #255329I saw a little bit of dribbling from him like the NBA, itยดs good to have another sport to enjoy, I quite like how he made those low blocks and just facing him as a striker with his arms stretch out is quite intimidating. One vs one I prefer to face smaller keepers, he just make the goal look so small. He quite follows the same profile as Marma does in some regard and then as you say Kelleher just much more taller. He does not look like Peter Crouch but letยดs not forget what a legend Crouch is for all his clubs. Top striker and universally loved by every club he played for. We know he could command the box like no one else in the league, which gives us a pretty good basis to start building a defense around him.
This window though, we have not signed many players for the first team but the business done for the u21 sides is the best in the league probably. Iยดve lost count on how many players we have signed u18. Most of them playing for u21 or u20 international football. Some of the highest prospect around the world. We have loaded up on defenders all above 6ยด5 from every country basically.
If nobody comes in and nobody goes out, I will be happy with this window.

31st August 2026 at 5:57 pm #255330Generally an upgrade Rob from this window. Plus the fact that we have a new Head Coach. Hopefully, this is leaps and bounds for us. Time and Patience of course is going to be needed.
Still short of a few playing positions for an optimum 11 to challenge. We need a little aggression from us on the pitch without picking up too much books and need to get Anfield back to a fortress, so still a long way to go, but a Ride I am more confident we will Enjoy.

31st August 2026 at 6:00 pm #255331Rob we got three positions locked in and that is Barcola, Isak and Wirtz, everybody else rotates. Those three are the future of the club whether we like it or not. I would not be surprised to see Munoz more often than not on the right, with Gakpo leading the frontline in the cups and such. Even if he wants the move he knows he canยดt leave the club without us finding a replacement for him, he will wait until January or next summer.
I would hope we get rid of Chiesa though, I canยดt really see the difference between him and Koumas actually. I hope Elliott stays as he will get game time, he is good enough to force it even if he has to drop further back.

31st August 2026 at 6:05 pm #255332Also Leoni and Ekitike to come back to full fitness in 2027.
It’s just this system to sort out and ensure our full backs don’t keep playing the way they have been in the first two games. Need more discipline, game IQ and fucking brains.

31st August 2026 at 6:09 pm #255333Exactly Nil, echoing Gerrard’s words ‘we’re too nice.’ Players like Szobo, Grav, Wirtz, Isak and Ekitike are pussies when it comes to putting a boot in. There’s only Mac, really, in our mid, that doesn’t mind nailing someone. Just need a lot more ‘fuckin’ bring it’ attitude.

31st August 2026 at 6:14 pm #255334Weโve been stung quite recently with the geuhi situation, so I rather the club not do any last minute deals or even attempt to.
At this late stage Iโd rather we keep Gakpo, but hope we donโt sell and then are not able to get any replacements in. That would be a disaster.
Looks like Gakpo wants to leave with barcola coming in and taking his place.
Letโs see what happens though.
