I want these twatted!
It’s been 15 years since Spurs last beat us at home, winning 2-0 with goals from van der Vaart and Modric back in May of 2011.
Always goals in this fixture and the last no score meeting was 11 years ago in Klopp’s first game in charge.
Last season we battered ’em 5-1 here with goals from Diaz, Mac Allister, Gakpo, Salah and an OG. Spurs, predictably put an early dent in our pre-PL winning celebrations taking the lead and predictably again thru an ex-player, Solanke.
Spurs are a mess with no wins in the league since between Xmas and New Year winning 1-0 at Palace. Just two league wins in almost 5 months. Will that stat matter, Sunday? Nah!
Fully expect Richarlison and Solanke to be fired up and players that haven’t played recently (like Solanke) suddenly appear and rip up trees on Sunday. If there’s ONE team in the PL that could wake up Sunday am. in a benevolent mood and decide to keep a manager in a job for another week, it’s us. But we’ll beat ’em.
Who will start? No clue on Ali so going with….
Mama, Frimpong, Konate, VVD, Robbo, Grav, Jones, Szobo, Gakpo, Ekitike and Mo. Think Wirtz will be eased back in and Mac rested. He looked buggared the other night (as did VVD).
van de Ven is suspended (turned into a bit of a bellend lately) plus their many other injuries should mean three home points because do we absolutely do need it after that brutal catastrophe at Wolves last week. I still SMH for five minutes a time everytime I think of that game. If we lose Sunday Slot needs to go and do one.
Liverpool 3 Spurs 1

13th March 2026 at 4:58 am #241349โtwattedโ now thats a word ive not heard since the 90s, proper Lancashire/Nort West lingo thereโฆ
Rob, respect to you for doing the prematch thread for as long as i can rememberโฆ what we talking 2005?? Takes a lot of effort, and im sure i speak for pretty much everyone on the lfc board, teamtalk and footydebate youre one of the reasons why the lfc board has been one of the best, if not the best. (Competition from jm, blacky and happys post match analysis are a treat to behold). I mean chelsea were in the champions league against psg, only 1 post regarding itโฆ probably same with arsenalโฆ you got more from chucky, whose the sole Tottenham fan left on any online footy forum.

13th March 2026 at 7:02 am #241351Whatever happens, and I mean whatever happens, we MUST win this game, no alternative is acceptable.
Slot and the players need to get their act together, and finish off this game early.
Alisson (or Marmadashvilli, if not fit)
Frimpong Konatรฉ Van Dijk Kerkez
Gravenberch Mac Allister
Salah Szoboszlai Wirtz

“You only scored 3, you only scored 3, how shit must you be, you only scored 3!”
Remember the 7-0 in about 1979? Expect that record to be broken…

Already warming to the idea of getting relegated and having a proper clearout… about 600m going… that’s got to be a warchest and a half for the championship!! LOL!!!

13th March 2026 at 10:13 am #241361Banjo, fully expect you to stay up. Give us the 3 points this weekend(happy with 1-0), get the remainder of your players back and win the rest of the games.. and whilst youre at it pummel athletico madrid 4-0.
The premier league is the best league for the reason that we have so many good teams. We need spurs to be in it.. even you boys used to always bendover for united and probably still do!

13th March 2026 at 10:34 am #241372I don’t care whether Spurs stay in the league or not, that is their business, not mine.
But what I do care about, however, is Liverpool crushing them this weekend, without any drama and a clean sheet, and putting in a good performance to hopefully get us back on track for good for the rest of the season.

13th March 2026 at 11:42 am #241378Asian, appreciate it my friend. I actually date further back from that with my first pre-match TT thread around 1996. Nuts! Thirty pissin’ years!

13th March 2026 at 1:44 pm #241385That 7-0 was 1n 1978 Chucky.
I was there that day – showing my age! The Terry McDermott goal, the seventh, remains my favourite of all the goals that I’ve seen the Reds score, home and away. For those on here who might not have seen it, it’s well worth a look. Youtube is your friend! Those were the days, my friend…

13th March 2026 at 2:10 pm #241387I think it will be a tight game, I don’t see us scoring from open play but we might get a couple of set pieces. I would not be surprised to see Spurs get their first result of the year against us.

13th March 2026 at 2:37 pm #241388Spurs have 11 players out for this game with the possibility of another 2 joining them.
Allison may or may not be back for this says Slot.
If there’s a doubt, play Marma and allow Allison another few days off before Gala on Wednesday._____________________________

13th March 2026 at 2:40 pm #241389One part of me thinks this is the ‘guaranteed’ Fruit Machine Pay Out in points and goals ๐ The other part has a lingering doubt that we’ll just balls it all up. I thought they would have let gone of Tudor. I suspect a lot of behind-the-scenes headache for the club.
Their players will definitely be give the ‘Sink or Swim’ dressing down.
We ourselves frustratingly dropped points. We’ve not forgotten Wolves so ultimately, we need to focus on ourselves and do what needs to be done.

13th March 2026 at 4:12 pm #241391Exactly Nil, think Burnley, who, statistically, are worse than Spurs and look what happened there.
We should beat them and think we will but, again, I’d be the least surprised supporter on earth if we cocked it up.

13th March 2026 at 9:42 pm #241401That’s really disheartening to see that long list of injuries, Rob (just to turn the focus as a Neutral). Of course, us guys can relate to this from our own experiences of player injuries and this season in particular.
I have zero expertise in this area, but I wonder time to time the length of time needed for players to recover and there’s clearly no quick fix in this.

14th March 2026 at 10:45 am #241405The standard of the league on the whole between a cluster of teams is quite an even spread. We are still in the mix. Realistically from this week, we can earn 3 points, better our goal difference and move up to 5th.
I think United will probably edge past Villa and likewise with Chelsea against Newcastle. Ideally from those fixtures, draws would be nice.
