I’m also reaching that point 1967.
I’ve read that certain players have been reassured by the summer transfer plans – which I take to mean that experienced players will be targeted rather than up and coming wonderkids.
However, which seasoned top player are we likely to attract without Champions League football and a coach who sounds like David Brent?
For all the money spent, we still need a keeper, 2 central defenders and a striker. May as well throw in a winger because whilst the likes of Pedro Neto put in a shift, they just aren’t good enough.
Not sure how this gets turned round without BlueCo f’in off.

13th April 2026 at 3:29 pm #243565You are not alone. I think every Chelsea fan is (and should be) frustrated by the current management of the club. We won the Champions League in 2021 but since the takeover: we clearly are going backward. BlueCo’s strategy to buy young players & prefer inexperienced coach simply does not work.
The last match against City really shows that they are one or two class above us. Their additions: Guéhi, Semenyo, who are experienced and mature players are helping them in their title push. Coupled with some good acquisitions last year like Donnaruma, a winner. And our young players, no matter how good they are, are of no match against these experienced players.

18th April 2026 at 9:57 am #243979Well done to Frank for getting Coventry promoted.
If we’re going to give ridiculously long contracts to managers, I’d rather we give one to someone like Frank than Maresca or Liam ‘David Brent’ Rosenior.

20th April 2026 at 1:52 pm #244317I did not see the match as I wasn’t home Saturday, but glad that I did not see it as we lost. A match that we should have won against a direct competitor for the top 5. I think now everybody: fans, the players, the manager and staff, the owners: should not kid ourselves. Our chance to qualify for the Champions League is basically over. We lost 4 league matches in a row. We are 7 points behind Liverpool. With our dire current form, we would be lucky to finish at 6 as Brentford Bournemouth Brighton and Everton are getting closer and closer to us.
It was a big mistake to sack Maresca.

20th April 2026 at 4:06 pm #244325It was a mistake to sack Maresca and then replace him with Rosenior. But Maresca’s time was up.

20th April 2026 at 9:08 pm #244334Ed, I beg to differ. My understanding is Maresca was asking for reinforcement (experienced players) and the owner (BlueCo) rejected. We were 5th in the league when Maresca left. So I think it’s a mistake to fire him.
I just watched the highlights against United and we were truly unlucky. The basics were there. We lacked just a certain X factor. Dunno what. Finishing? Or leadership? Or cohesion? For me the only logical thing to do is to add one or two experienced players (winners) into the squad and let’s see how we will fare next season. I don’t believe Rosenior’s position is under threat though even though I think if BlueCo wants to win: we need an experienced manager too.

21st April 2026 at 5:50 am #244339In all honesty it’s no shock we doing so badly if you look at the calibre of players they been recruiting since they took over with the exception of only 5 or 6 players. More surprising is the fact we won 2 major trophies and we still laying 6th although I expect us to drop to 10th or even 12th season end.

21st April 2026 at 12:33 pm #244358The last time Chelsea lost five consecutive league games without scoring was 1912, when the Titanic sank.
I get that sinking feeling!!If we get 6th place that could mean champions league provide villa get top 5 and win the Europa league.
Having said that, we have tough fixtures ahead.
Brighton also fighting for champs league place.squeaky bottom time!

21st April 2026 at 8:55 pm #244368Did you watch the 1st half against Brighton? Chelsea haven’t been good but this is bad. Brighton dominated and should have been 2-3 goals ahead of us. It’s a mistake to sack Maresca. It looks to me that the players don’t want to play for Rosenior. And anyway Rosenior doesn’t have any credential. Maresca at least brought Leicester promoted.
Srilankanblue: I think we should stop daydreaming. This team doesn’t deserve Champions League football. A the moment, I can see more what Blueisbest was saying: we’ll finish probably on 10th. Brighton will be already ahead of us when this match will finish. I can’t see how we can win. I was very wrong about Delap. I thought he would be the next Drogba. But he is just so bad. Can’t keep the ball, no speed, no positioning.
I hope that BlueCo can see that what they’re doing is not working. They should sack Rosenior and hire an experienced manager (not coach!). And let the manager decide the transfers.

22nd April 2026 at 1:23 pm #244396I could not even finish the match. 2-0 for Brighton and I switched off. A dismal performance to say the least. I think this confirms my hypothesis above that the players don’t want to play for Rosenior. A bad strategy though from him to play 3 centre-backs. We needed to win and he played defensively with 3 CBs. And should he play 3 CBs, one of them should have been Tosin to add aerial threats from corners. Not Hato, this guy doesn’t deserve to wear Chelsea shirt. Chalobah was not bad but his passing skills show that he is not Chelsea quality. Fofana can pass but his defensive skills just aren’t there. I think, we need to invest big time in central defense. GK we will have Penders coming. Central defense, noone reliable. Lavia was lost yesterday, I did not see anything meaningful from him. Liam Delap was a wrong purchase, I was wrong about him. Bring Nicolas Jackson back.
Only Enzo Fernandez, Neto, Caicedo & Cucurella who played reasonably ok yesterday. Others were cr*p. No pride to wear the shirt.

22nd April 2026 at 6:48 pm #244406We all knew it was coming even Rosenier knew, he sounded on the verge of breakdown after last night’s game. This of course is far from solving any problems when you have sd’s recruiting players who not good enough.for even the likes of Wolves or championship teams. Firing Tuchel was a huge mistake besides all the tomite players they wasted all that money on.

23rd April 2026 at 5:40 am #244427It’s the right decision to sack Rosenior, not just for the terrible results and performances, but because he was never the right choice in the first place.
Now we’re linked with Iraola and Fabregas. Don’t get me wrong, Cesc was a fantastic player for us, but he’s managing Como. That’s not the same as Chelsea, as Rosenior found out. As for Iraola, he started his coaching career in Cyprus and is now at Bournemouth. He’s done a good job but not in the same context as a team like Chelsea.
The problem is that Blueco have flushed their credibility down the toilet. Can we today attract a calibre of manager in the bracket of Mourinho, Ancelotti, Conte etc, as we did in the past?
Can we even attract top players? By top players I mean proven, experienced winners; not ‘wonderkids’ that have been deemed so by Football Manager.
Who would want to come and join the Blueco circus, except for people who see it as a get rich quick scheme?
We’re out of the title race for at least a decade, because that is the length of time it would take for Blueco to regain any credibility, or for Blueco to be bought out and a new regime come in and clean things out.

24th April 2026 at 1:58 pm #244519I was happy when we avoided Man City for the FA Cup. But looking at our dire form, I think Leeds would beat us quite easily like Brighton in midweek. And they got decent results against us in the league too. The FA Cup is our last hope for a bit of joy this season. But I am not optimistic at all.
The good news is Rosenior is out. It’s clear to me that the players did not want to play for him anymore. I feel for the man though. He seems to be a good man. And a keen learner. However he was not ready to take over Chelsea, at all. He was out of his depth. This team won Clubs World Cup last summer. Enzo Fernandes is a World Cup winner. Cucurella is a Spain international. And he picked a fight against those two. I understood he wanted his authority but the match against City was too important for Enzo to miss out.
My feeling is that BlueCo will go for Iraola. He works wonder at Bournemouth. He never complains about his squad and seems to be able to maximize players at his disposal despite heavy departures season after season. (Huijsen, Kerkez etc).
Ed, I still don’t think Jose Mourinho or Conte should come back. They will cause too much chaos. But Ancelotti, he is free after the World Cup and I think he is a really intelligent manager. I would love to have him back at Chelsea.

25th April 2026 at 7:21 am #244532Aindro, you misunderstand me. I’m not saying that we should go for Conte or Mourinho, the point I’m making is that when we attracted. Mourinho, Conte, Ancelotti, they were all considered world class managers.
We can’t attract world class managers anymore, thanks to Blueco.
I would take Ancelotti in a heartbeat, he was extremely popular with the players when he was at Chelsea and his sacking didn’t make any sense really. Would he come to us? Doubt it these days.

27th April 2026 at 3:34 pm #244653With the current BlueCo method, I don’t think any world class manager would want to come to Chelsea. However if they soften their stance, say to allow to buy one or two experienced players: I believe Chelsea would still be of interest of a lot of world class managers. And after the World Cup, who knows who will be available. Ancelotti? Thomas Tuchel? Nagelsmann?
The squad still contains a number of good players like Enzo, Estevao, Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro, Caicedo and Reece James. And any world class manager would be interested to manage a team like ours. Again the impediments would be BlueCo’s policies and management.
The problem is IMO it will be a bit late to wait for the end of the World Cup and then summer vacation. I honestly would prefer Chelsea to start early with the new manager appointment. So he will have a full summer to assess and to prepare the squad and especially the transfers. Moreover if we miss European football, which is very possible as UCL is practically out and Europa is depending on us winning the FA Cup, which won’t be easy against City: there may be a transfer ban looming as we won’t comply with the FFP rules. (as far as I understand from the articles I read).

5th May 2026 at 4:35 am #245211I watched the game. Don’t know why.
We were awful again, but when I saw the CB lineup of Tosin and Chalobah then it wasn’t ever going to turn out well.
Delap was all over the place. Absolute donkey.
It’s going to be very hard to attract a good manager and key players over the summer. Well done, BlueCo.

5th May 2026 at 7:54 am #245214i cant see us winning another game playing like this! I cant see us beating spurs.
i have decided i am not going to the final.
who will be our next yes man to manage the club.
Joe Shields, Paul Winstanley, Laurence Stewart and Sam Jewell these 4 need to go.
Blue Co are good business men allegedly, making there fortune, surely they must see the model is not working.
we are massively in debt and no European football by the looks of it, do we sell our top players? Are we going back to the days when we were in division 2!!
emotional rant over!!
