Blues1967: it was a thrill though to watch Enzo scoring very late. A very entertaining match. But it was against West Ham at home!! A team in the relegation zone So I won’t expect anything good against Arsenal away tomorrow. I think Arsenal – City in the Carabao final.
But agreed 100%. Our 2nd string while often delivered when coming in as substitutes, mostly flopped when starting a match. Our first 55 min was a very bad performance and West Ham should have scored more. Not sure at all about Cole Palmer, is he fit, is he not fit, are the rumours that he’s unhappy in London founded … What I could see, he isn’t playing as before. He wasn’t really celebrating with the others after any goal. Rosenior is trying to hide it: Palmer is important etc etc, plays well etc etc, I don’t think he played well at all against West Ham. And his face and body expressions worry me.

2nd February 2026 at 10:42 pm #238432Yes Aindro something is not right with Palmer and its not just fitness. A huge game tomorrow and he might be key to our overall aspirations. Its up to Rosenior to pick our best eleven all playing in their natural positions and then see what unfolds. Maybe then Palmer makes a difference. If the coach experiments in this match then he’s lost me for good. It is clear what tomorrow requires from minute ONE to give us any hope and maybe not even that is enough. We will see.

3rd February 2026 at 7:10 pm #238506Unfortunately can’t watch the match, working hours here. But just saw on the internet our lineup against Arsenal. Not sure if this is the right approach to be honest. No Cole Palmer, no Estevao. 2 strikers in Joao Pedro & Delap. No winger but 2 advanced wing backs in Cucurella & Gusto. It looks to me we play with 3 CB Hato Fofana Chalobah. I am not sure that changing our formation 4-2-3-1 to what it looks to me to be 3-5-2 is the right approach, especially against a strong Arsenal team

4th February 2026 at 12:13 pm #238543Aindro, you didn’t miss much!
He played Enzo on the left and Delap on the right.
We were too defensive, 5 4 1, 4 5 1.i found it very odd.

4th February 2026 at 12:34 pm #238546Delap as a right winger was one of the strangest decisions I’ve seen from a manager who comes across as being very intelligent.

4th February 2026 at 4:00 pm #238554I just watched the highlights, IMO Chelsea were decent but were not able to create any clear cut chances. A part the goal, Arsenal had another one from Gabriel’s header. Chelsea 0 clear cut chance. Delap playing on the right I think due to Estevao isn’t fully fit and Cole Palmer isn’t fully fit and Pedro Neto was completely out due to injury. But I saw glimpses though for those two. Palmer started to do some nice short passes and Estevao was lively. I think both have to start against Wolves. With Palmer gaining more and more fitness (hopefully, finger crossed) and Estevao more and more adjusted to Premier League: Rosenior will have to play those two together as they are our source of creativity.
There were rumours that Maresca did not want Garnacho, now I see more and more why. He doesn’t want to do any defensive work at all and his finishing is really sloppy despite he is able to create chances. He has everything but if he is lazy, I hope Chelsea will sell him as he starts to become a liability. Every time he starts (like against West Ham), he plays badly.
I had high hope on Delap and I still have a glimmer, but the hope is starting to fade slowly but sure. He is just too stationary, he doesn’t have finishing instinct as he is never on the right time on the right place (unlike a certain Igor Thiago of Brentford who is always there to score). His advantage is just his physical strength but nothing else. Honestly I found Nicolas Jackson to be a better striker than him as at least Jackson created a lot of chances (wasn’t always able to finish though) and he was very mobile with his speed.

9th February 2026 at 7:04 am #238939Wolves another game of 2 halves. We won’t see the best of this squad until they get a proper pre season and come in fresh. World Cup this pre season so who knows when that will be. Same can be said for all the big clubs with the extended Champions League format – just more games!! Burn out will be the ongoing theme sadly. Expect the bigger clubs to suffer more surprise defeats as the season unfolds too.

10th February 2026 at 3:20 pm #239023I watched only the 1st half, it was a decent performance but not in any way superb either. The 2 penalties were very silly, they were gifts. But I am happy to see Cole Palmer back and scoring again. I hope that he can put his injury problems behind. Leeds tonight will be a different animal though. They are tough to beat at the back and they have Calvert Lewin in form. We lost against them too last year.
We need everybody to be fit. So far we manage but can Palmer, Fofana, James be back 100% fit, ever? I was not surprised Palmer was substituted early after his hattrick but I think it would have been nice to give him more minutes at Wolves to build up more confidence in him. And for the team. Early substitutions like this indicate that he is not yet 100% fit

20th February 2026 at 4:27 pm #239707We’re pretty quiet these days, but then I guess we are in No Man’s Land!
Rosenior seems to be filling his time with talking about social issues.
I guess we’re hoping for Top 4.

20th February 2026 at 8:06 pm #239723Indeed Ed, we were pretty quiet after the disappointing draw against Leeds. I am not sure with the top 4 as Aston Villa seem to me to always get results despite playing poorly, always small wins. And Man Utd with Michael Carrick seem to be a different beast than with Amorim previously. And we have also to include Liverpool in the mix as they start to get results too. 12 matches still to play and our easy run will end against Burnley tomorrow while Liverpool and Aston Villa will have relatively easy fixtures until the end.
But good news is that Palmer is back. His display against Leeds for me is really encouraging despite the last minute sitter miss.

21st February 2026 at 6:11 am #239731I’m not convinced by Rosenier for now as he had a run of games against so called easier teams since he started except for Arsenal and we lost both games albeit a bit unluckily. We couldn’t beat Leeds and we will see what happens today against Burnley. Hope he does well as we have to stop changing managers. However the real test is to finishing in the top 4 or 5. We have an extremely tough run in and after that he can be judged.

21st February 2026 at 9:12 pm #239755I think we’ve seen this movie before too many times. Red card totally changing the dynamics of the game, this yet again against totally inferior opposition. Another match that looked like a walk in the park for three points and ended up with them dropping more. We are NO hope of ANY European qualification next season let alone Champions League which now is NO hope. Until the owners of this football club move on then nothing is going to change. They are never going to change the business model.

22nd February 2026 at 5:49 am #239758Still cant get over it. Palmers miss as if he cant run fast enough when through on his own. And Fofana and his usual stupid tackles. And im afraid we have another idiot as a manager. When your defender is on a yellow you make a change at half time especially as he selected 5 centre halves on the bench also unbelievable. Its basic common sense.

22nd February 2026 at 6:11 am #239759Rover while admittedly the team was poorly managed yesterday the players have to also be held accountable. Bad tackles, trying to shoot the ball past 2 or 3 defenders in your way, no ball dribbling skills whatsoever. Caciedo and Reece were decent while Pedro and Palmer tried hard but both lost the ball countless times while the Pedro who scored the goal went missing after that. Sanchez is back to his nerve wrecking ways. As for Rosenier it’s going to be the same as under Maresca. A few highs and more than a few lows. To draw to Leeds and Burnley at home is inexcusable whoever the manager may be. We can forgot about a top 6 finish now as the runin is incredibly tough.

23rd February 2026 at 3:14 pm #239962I have to agree with Blueisbest. It’s a reckless tackle by Fofana. We were 1-0 up playing at home against a weak team Burnley. He did not need to do that tackle as he was on the yellow already. I found this reckless and unprofessional. We did not play well either as we did not create enough chances after our quick goal. But Burnley were hardly menacing either; so I thought 1-0 would be enough, until that silly tackle from Fofana. Lineker just predicted that we will miss the top 5. Aston Villa and Liverpool got last minutes results and us: 2 weeks in a row we got last minutes equalizer from the opposition. Seriously weak and disappointing and while the season still has 11 matches to play: we still have Arsenal, Aston Villa, Liverpool all away and Man City at home. So yeah, I expect us to miss the top 5, unless Man Utd or Liverpool or Villa who have kinder fixture runs than us unexplicably drop points.

1st March 2026 at 8:55 am #240380Shock of the season coming up. Arsenal 1 Chelsea 2. I’ve got a feeling Arsenal are a tad off colour right now. That’s two draws they’ve had recently throwing points away as have we but these boys seem to lift for bigger profile matches. Don’t know why but got a good feeling about this one. Let’s see what happens 🙂

1st March 2026 at 7:05 pm #240481Arsenal were off colors. They were ok but not more than that. But to concede 2 times from corners? We were worse than them. And Neto unnecessary red card. Seriously? He just got yellow and he made another tackle. Bad, we are seriously bad. I think we’ll certainly miss the top 5. So no UCL next season

2nd March 2026 at 5:07 am #240492Impression that I got was that Neto took one for the team and then indicated that he was unaware of the first yellow card. That is backed up with a host of players approaching the referee, Reece James waving them away and talking to the referee himself and Neto walking off raising one finger and talking to the 4th referee at the same time leaving the pitch. Notwithstanding his crude challenge was probably worthy of a straight red in any case. Again the lack of maturity and with it experience across the squad has raised its ugly head yet again with the SEVENTH red card of the season in the Premier League alone, a record.
Why were we not given a penalty for Rice’s hand ball. Always controversy in these big important games and Chelsea mostly on the receiving end of the bad result.

2nd March 2026 at 9:21 am #240496They came in and said how badly the club was run.
Now we have the biggest debt, a record!.What do you guys think of Santos? If only Lavia could stay fit, he is a player.
We really need a goalkeeper, such a poor poor performance from Sanchez!
I thought Sarr and Hato did well. Chalobah was superb._____________________________

2nd March 2026 at 1:54 pm #240521srilankanblue: I totally agree concerning Rice. It’s a penalty. We scored directly from the resulting corner, but IMO it’s a clear penalty. Arsenal played home though, that may be a factor too that the ref did not give penalty. Home advantage.
Santos, a decent player, but not a world beater. And yes, we need Latvia, he is mile better than Santos or even than Caicedo with his form at the moment. Hato, I don’t rate him. I did not like Cucurella but probably he is the best left back in the world at the moment, a beast. Our defense sucks big time. How many times have we conceded from set pieces? Against Leeds, against Burnley, against Arsenal yesterday and in the Cup. The list keeps continuing …. So no to our defense (Chalobah, Fofana, Hato, Sarr, all poor IMO). Sanchez was poor too but we know that he is not world class and will be replaced by Penders next season.
Man Utd keep winning although always small wins. Liverpool I think there’s no question they’ll finish in the top 4 or even top 3. The question is now on Aston Villa. They started to stutter. They are tired. Their squad isn’t that deep. I hope that Chelsea will beat Villa midweek. No guarantee at all that we can finish above them as their fixtures are clearly much easier than ours. But if we want to finish in the top 5, we have to start winning against the fellow top 5 contenders. We did not until now. We just lost against Arsenal. We’d lost against Man Utd and Villa before too while only drew against City.
