Just for the record, I really don’t want to censor any topics on the site. I think what I will have said previously is just that I’d prefer political debates to be avoided as they have a tendency to descend into chaos. If any start to get out of hand, I may close them but I’d prefer that to only be a last resort.

Ed, you run the site, so ultimately it’s your decision, but I haven’t seen a single post on this thread that has crossed any line.
My two opening posts were not rants. They were based on something that was broadcasted on national TV in Denmark. With that in mind I can’t see why we need to have a general rule that is against topics that include politics. We should be able to discuss current events related to football. Also if it includes politics.I see the need to delete a thread if it truly descents into chaos like insulting language and petty namecalling. But that ought to be a decision made from thread to thread and not as a general rule.

But that’s the point, Banjo. We are all guilty. So when FC Copenhagen ‘pulled out’ due to their fans SRD thought it worthy of mentioning. That’s fair enough, surely?
No idea why anyone needed to bring others into this, WTF this has to do with Man Utd is anyone’s guess. FC Copenhagen listened to their fans, which is a good thing in today’s footballing world and nothing to do with Man Utd.

I don’t think the Baconmuncher is using this as a stick to bash other clubs cyber chum, I think it’s more of highlighting one club who, having listened to their fans, is perhaps using their conscious as a guide rather than a balance sheet.
Don’t think anybody has mentioned the actions of any other club in comparison, not on this page at least.

I’m probably more guilty than everybody else here about double standards as I make my living dealing with the GCC region, I don’t like it one little bit and do have certain moral issues (do my best to convince myself as we deal with environmental matters I’m doing good things), but I’ve also got a kid to look after…
