I can handle going out and playing well but going out and playing shite, no.
PSG will be fresh from having their weekend game (Lens, feel sorry for them as it effs up their schedule, but the big clubs have the power) and will be chomping at the bit to put us out of our misery, and think they will.
Who will start?
Mama, Gomez, Konate, VVD, Robbo, Grav, Mac, Szobo, Wirtz, Ekitike and Mo is my guess.
Personally, I’d start Szobo alongside Mac (bench Grav), Rio, Wirtz, Mo and Ekitike but doubt very much that will happen.
I think we will play better than last week (not much to beat) but PSG will score won’t they? Too many weapons.
Liverpool 1 PSG 2

14th April 2026 at 7:18 am #243613Its sad thats it difficult ti have any optimism i predict a bright start, crowd singing then it all to fade. We havenβt played well for a full 90 months minutes in a very long time and cant see that changing tonight

14th April 2026 at 9:15 am #243626If it was a Klopp team that was two nil down I’d be well up for this. The crowd would be bouncing, the players hyped and the football intense. I would fancy us to turn the tie.
But I agree Sean, it might start fairly passionate but it will soon fade and we will limp out rather timidly.
PSG will have much more space tonight. If our press isn’t 100% tuned in we could get a bit of a beating.

14th April 2026 at 11:31 am #243642As fans because for many years of having Jurgen Klopp as our Manager, we’re don’t quite take as well to Arnie’s nature. He’s not doom and gloom, but at the same time, he doesn’t come across somebody that himself would get revved up and be able to galvanize the players.
Good Press Conference from Dom and encouraging.
I definitely appreciate the comments on here so far and fully get it. Personally am looking forward and feel optimistic despite the 2 goal deficit.
One of the key problems for us is not consistently repeating a good performance as a ‘back to back’
Saturday was the first time in the League for a while and League Results over these last few days have shun a positive light on what we’re still able to achieve. As long as we have the belief and give everything we got. Miracles may happen π

14th April 2026 at 11:52 am #243644“People are gonna find it very hard to believe but the approach is not gonna be that much different” that sounds inspiring lads right?
It sounds like he is gonna have another back five system again, at home! While stating that he would never put a low block team to defend for 90 minutes, which he did in our last game against them.
It does not inspire me with confidence.

14th April 2026 at 1:34 pm #243652Tough opponent, but we have to fully believe that can knock them out, so let’s just go for it with passion, aggression, and no fear – and leave nothing on the pitch.
Does Slot start with Rio, or is he more effective coming off the bench, that is the question? Also, time for Ekitike to get back on form, and make a big difference.
Anfield has to turn up the volume to the maximum, now let’s do it.

14th April 2026 at 1:34 pm #243653We’re due a bad game, by that I mean we only ever have one good game before another bump down to earth. We won at the weekend so here we go again. I can’t even get excited by the wins or thoroughly narked off by the losses anymore. I’m zoning out and waiting patiently for some good news….
I will, with delight, eat humble pie if we win, but on the experience of the last year even a good start is showing undue optimism!
All I need now to top it off is the usual post from ‘you know who’ stating ‘this game is a must-win game, no other result is acceptable’, ‘I want to see fight, passion and hunger from EVERY single Liverpool player’ ‘blah blah blah. Like a scratched record, none of it makes sense…

14th April 2026 at 1:35 pm #243654Naturally we are relying on a concerted effort from all quarters, but it also takes somebody to ignite something. I’m hoping Rio starts this evening.
From the bits I’ve seen of Enrique, he doesn’t seem the type to ‘shut up shop’. He’ll get his players coming out to try and kill off the tie.
We get an early goal and it’s game on or a goal inside the first half and not concede. It’s going to be down to our energy levels and intensity.
It is rightly identified on here that we’re not or struggle to deliver for the entire 90 minutes so that’s something we do need to put right as we can’t afford to switch off.

It makes all the sense in the world, and that’s why we beat Fulham in a must-win game

14th April 2026 at 1:49 pm #243658The thing is we did not even try to play our game against them in Paris and the head coach is stating it will be more of the same. Hopefully the lineup will be positive, I canΒ΄t imagine what will happen if he actually plays a back five at Anfield.

14th April 2026 at 1:53 pm #243659What about all the other must win games, like needing to win the FA cup tie to get through to the next round? or needing to beat Spurs at home when they look like being relegated? Or winning away at wolves who are basically relegated? or Nottm Forest away who are also in the relegation scrap…. I could go on.
Every game we play is a must win game because more than every other one we lose!!

14th April 2026 at 2:02 pm #243663Talk about stating the bleeding obvious.
Of course, virtually every game is a must-win for Liverpool, like last season, until we sealed the Premier League title early. And it’s the same this season also, in all tournaments.
And now, the priority is to qualify for the CL, so every league game is a must-win game, and it’s been like that for some time now.

14th April 2026 at 2:22 pm #243665The main thing going forward is not to dwell on this too much (I’m as guilty as the rest!) if we’re out. What I don’t want is to for us to go out on a whimper though.
I’m already looking ahead to the Everton game; honestly believe we’ll win at the Hill Dickinson and then we have Palace at home before United away and Leeds last night showed us that it’s possible to win at Old Trafford, so 4th place is definitely up for grabs.
If this tie was 3 goals then I’d be like “oh ok, not really much of a chance”. But 2 goals is chasable. It’s just ensuring for one second we don’t take our eye off it and get caught out.
We definitely need a set up though with Firepower and bring our Shooting Boots.

14th April 2026 at 2:41 pm #243666We WIN 1-0 and itβs meaningless in the context of this competition.
βMust win gameβ has been so over used by some that itβs almost become meaningless in itself.

14th April 2026 at 7:05 pm #243675okay not a back five and on the bright side songman has to eat his words, since we got both of them starting together, which we have heard him state would never happen about 200 times this season so far.

14th April 2026 at 7:12 pm #243677So glad of 2 Strikers, but maybe Mo instead of Ekitike (only because of Ekitike of late being out of sorts). Need contributions in shots from Wirtz and Zobo.
BBC calling this as 4-2-2-2. Ultimately, we don’t lose our discipline and coordination tonight.
