Gives us zero contingency if a defender gets injured, other than bringkng on Robertson.

8th April 2026 at 6:54 pm #243268Robbo could slip in as a make-shift CB Threeps or Grav could slot in there too as an emergency. There are options, not many, but there’s options.

8th April 2026 at 6:57 pm #243270Looking like a 4231 anyway. Glad Mo is benched for this. Utter pap in the two games last season and will have no desire to defend against their left side.

8th April 2026 at 6:58 pm #243271Another BIG game Ginger and how we set-up does matter. We agree there’s stuff behind the scenes but in the interim what we do today and how we do it is the priority.
60 minutes to kick-off.

8th April 2026 at 7:01 pm #243272Itβs not just behind the scenes, itβs on the actual pitch.
A basic ability to defend, work hard, pass the ball effectively, track runners, not crumble at the singular sign of adversary.
Formations are worthless if your not doing the basics.

8th April 2026 at 7:11 pm #243273Don’t think you’ll be seeing much of Frimpong as a winger tonight.

8th April 2026 at 7:11 pm #243274We’d just drawn that ridiculous game at Leeds and a woeful 1-1 at home Sunderland but then went 4312 at Inter and won.
We’d lost 2-1 at home to United then went 442 at Frankfurt and won 5-1.
We drew 0-0 at home to Leeds and another cock-up at Fulham and went 4231 at Arsenal and drew.
We drew that awful, awful game at home to Burnley then went 4222 at Marseille and won 3-0.
We lost at Brighton, got twatted at City in the Cup and went to PSG and…..
All different formations…that worked.
Anything is possible depending on tactics, formation, personnel, attitude.

Displayed as 4-2-3-1 although I did hear talk coming from TNT just a few minutes ago speaking about 5 at the back, so whether this is speculation or something intended we shall see. The set up/strategy I would like to think will be Cautious.
Lovely looking scenery from the screens and the stadia. Good to see Macca too looking well and styled. Counting down and I for one am actually looking forward π

8th April 2026 at 7:25 pm #243277Salah dropped, great idea to change my mind today about the team. Got it wrong on the wings though, as I thought Gakpo would start. Let’s see if the Frimpong experiment upfront works (with Gomez backing him up) and he better not get injured.
Now let’s get a result here.
