Surprised at the lack of discussion on here but I guess it’s Liverpool as ever, making it difficult on themselves.
That’d be doing Southampton a disservice though. They caused us more problems than I think all but a few PL sides this season. I won’t go so far as to say that we were in disarray at the back but our defence has seen better days. I think too, our midfield has covered them better in the past too though.
In the end we were “comfortable” but that’s only the result. The match was a test of character and we failed it for the vast majority of the game. The end might be the only thing that matters but we’ll win nothing if we don’t sort out a way to be a bit more comprehensive.
I’m not ungrateful, I’m cautious.
it was a fantastic comeback and 3 points. Salah’s goal was genuinely special. The way he used the 2 defenders against themselves was amazing. My brother in law text me nothing about that goal and instead roared “henderson!!” at me… This made me sad and honestly, I was having none of it.
That’s a conversation for another day though.
Credit to Salah for breaking his drought in such an important and challenging way.
Shaqiri is clearly done at the club. I’ve said it before but it’s so obvious that he’ll be sold in the summer. I’m assuming his shitty attitude has kicked off again and Klopp doesn’t appreciate it. he had his chance and you know.. it looked like he was taking it too… shame.
3 points though. That’s what really matters.

Yeah Mal I for 1 am beaming after that win. There’s 6 games to go so really 3 points is all that matters. I do agree we will need to play a lot better than that if we are to win all of them, esp away from home. Good ticker though & great fighting spirit. Good to see Keita finally score & Hendo as well.
It probably won’t be enough considering what we are up against but I must admit I thought this comp would already be pretty much over by now, I just can’t see city losing another game, they are more than comfortable against everyone whereas we seem to be in a battle every game.
Ah well C/L again next season & an interesting tie in the C/L to come as well._____________________________
