30th August 2026 at 12:16 pm #255033Thats my issue guys. He should be 100 fit but looked exhausted after 65 min. We have no backup for him especially with gakpo going
One ball was fired into the corner and isak should have controlled but looked to tired
Isak can be dangerous when he drifts left but we have saw none of that.
Hopefully goal does him good. I know we keep sating but how the fuck is this squad supposed to compete? I really fear for unless we get 3 players in.
I understand nyoni. He looks ready but is still so young. Koumas is not good enough
Plastic, frimpong is just so weak mate. He cant cross a ball. Kerkes just needs to rediscover some of his brains he had under iarola
Vvd looks sluggish and its like hes bot moving right.

30th August 2026 at 12:34 pm #255035Could have been a lot worse with the course of events. Delap’s throw basically caught us out and Allison had to commit. I was thinking in some instances, the keeper can even be shown a Red (unless I’m mistaken).
Jacquet was maxed out poor guy. I like him. Again, this is down to what I’ve pointed out yesterday, the full-backs are unreliable and at fault. We really need to get this unit singing off the same hymn sheet otherwise this will only place pressure on Allison and he himself is on twilight/sunset mode.
Shame our first goal turned out to be offside. I would stress with a lot of positivity considering what happened at Spurs and what is going on with Spurs, we ‘ve turned out a lot better from our own first 2 matches and not defeated.

30th August 2026 at 1:15 pm #255044Sean I´m not really worried about our offense, Munoz is turning into a treat and he tracks back, I got no problem with our left flank actually in this game. Kerkez was fine as well, him and Munoz connected throughout the match.
Wirtz had a good game, he was unlucky not to score, got the assist, had a disallowed goal. Isak was a bit sloppy, just his first touch actually but it was a good goal from him. I´m not worried as he will score goals.
The defense is another matter.

30th August 2026 at 1:44 pm #255049Isak has to do a lot more especially with regards to movement but if you see the teams average positions he was very isolated.
Hopefully that changes with Barcola who is very much one to get into the penalty box.

30th August 2026 at 1:57 pm #255053He had 18 touches on the ball, one goal, he setup a few chances as well, there are maybe 3-4 balls he could have done more with.
If we got Munoz and Barcola on the wings, they are gonna create space for Isak, both of them can beat their markers and when that happen one of the two defenders that is marking Isak needs to make a decision. Either they push Munoz or Barcola and leave Isak with a pocket of space to work with or leave the space for Munoz or Barcola to dribble into.
That extra movement also opens up the channel for Wirtz to work with.

30th August 2026 at 2:11 pm #255057Admittedly my criticism towards Isak has been harsh. He’s the only real Talisman on the field to rely on. We’ve yet to really see the Newcastle version firing on cylinders.
Last season, he linked well with Ekitike, but misfortune of injuries and what have you meant this in patches.
Be a good headache for Andoni once everybody and I mean everybody is fully fit. We’re probably looking into late Winter/Early Spring of 2027.

30th August 2026 at 2:37 pm #255062Others disagreed, but I think they will go close to the title this season.
No Europe, so mostly a game a week.

30th August 2026 at 2:50 pm #255065Good subject. Been keeping up with the score updates, not watching the game, but you just feel Chelsea will be up there to challenge the Gunners. City seem a tad bit light and looks like Cherki will be relied up like a Bernardo Silva.
Btw, the 3-4-3 would work well for Alonso knowing he’s got the right shield of the 2 protective midfielders, central.

30th August 2026 at 5:01 pm #255097Blooming ek, Ipswich have just scored and without sounding biased, they’ve been so far the better team. We got these this Friday Night at Portman Road!!!

30th August 2026 at 7:16 pm #255165They got walloped in the end. Flicked off the switch once United went 2-1 up.
Hope we are not served with the backlash next Friday. It seems though there’s still a carry-over from last season of now waiting to be a goal behind before we actually start playing!!

3rd September 2026 at 2:45 am #255612Just watched the game for the second time to get a better perspective.
Firstly the refereeing was shocking, munoz was hard done throughout the game. Wasnt a penalty as the shot was away and not much allison can do, frimpong foul start of 2nd half, play continues and later the referee blows the whistle once liverpool win the ball back?? Theres countless others, munoz push from the back at full speed, no penalty blatant push on ngumoha, no foul… Couldnt get our subs on due a technical issue, 2 seconds later and a foul throw to boot, penalty to forest. These factors can really agitate players, tactics, and mentality’s.
Onto the game macalister was our best player in the first half, kept the game ticking nicely and did a good through ball to gakpo, solid in the tackles. Gakpo, isak and wirtzz were anonymous. However after wirtz disallowed goal he tried to get into the game. I didnt think frimpong was as bad as people made him, kerkez offered zero going forward, but was relatively solid in defence.
Second half gakpo and wirtz got more into the game. Besides isaks goal he could have done slightly better with some of the half chances… nyonis cameo was really good, ngumoha is wasted on the right and is currently struggling to get into games. Great goal for munoz and deserved it after the he was treated all game. Szobo played better as a right back than he did as a midfielder… some loose passing from him.
Its early days, but lets get something straight everyone knows we should have had 3 points from both these games. Besides notorious(dont know whats he smoking), weve had an easy start to the premier league and dominated both games to teams who are going through major transition… disappointed.

3rd September 2026 at 1:58 pm #255652Couldn’t agree more w.r.t the reffing but would also add the usual ability to overlook general fouling on LFC players while instantly awarding free kicks to the oppo. Willingness to hand out yellows to us also a feature e.g. Trey wrestled off the ball around halfway (ref ignores foul), Forest player runs into Araujo, who’s a bit bigger and stands his ground: instant free and yellow.
My son and I used to bemoan the change and inconsistent refereeing approaches from game to game; now it takes place within the same game, largely to our disadvantage_____________________________
