Reminded me of the Darwin Nunez header late on 2 seasons ago. I knew in the second half late on, this was there for the taking, but just lacked that bit of quality until Slot made those changes. 3 Massive Points for us.

22nd February 2026 at 4:05 pm #239863Bingo, exactly and our 7 and 11’s are just effin too predictable now and you need that element of unpredictability in those positions. The right subs and btw, Mo, isn’t our top scorer this season, far from it.

22nd February 2026 at 4:10 pm #239866Correct Carra…
“That’s one of the biggest robberies I’ve seen in the Premier League this season.
“Ngumoha did more in 15 minutes than Salah and Gakpo did before that. He changed the game and needs to be starting games.
“There’s no-one better in getting last-minute winners in Premier League – and that is Liverpool.”

22nd February 2026 at 4:15 pm #239868Well, hope for nothing too serious re Wirtz. So made up for our win today, really really happy. West Ham at home next Sat and a 3pm kick off, so hopefully nice weather and we nail 3 points.
Wolves subsequent league and fa cup matches after that. First time for ages winning 3 competitive matches in succession so on a bit of a mini-run and we can do loads better and try and really push up the Table.

22nd February 2026 at 4:16 pm #239869As I said a coupla weeks ago we need to be picking up 3 points this month because next month the CL starts back.
11 games left
7 wins needed. We were pretty abysmal for the most part there but Iβll take that win no bother.
Everton chasing European spots so they might take something off Utd but generally they get beat by them.
We still have to go away to Everton too and thatβs generally a draw at best.

22nd February 2026 at 4:17 pm #239870Shouldn’t be a conundrum for Slot but he’ll make it one and that’s dropping one of either Gakpo or Mo for Rio.
Both Mo and Cody have just become predictable as hell.

22nd February 2026 at 4:23 pm #239873Watched replays of Ekitike’s headers recently including the two today and he doesn’t seem generate power from his body upon approach as tho he’s just solely focusing on making contact. Needs to do better with his noggin’. Should have absolutely buried that late effort today and not made it a VAR issue.

22nd February 2026 at 4:29 pm #239876I disagree that was one of the biggest robberies. They battered us 1st half but we hsd the ball all of the 2nd half and created the Better chances
Thought it was an awful match.Rio is the only real attacking option we have. Chiesa just comes on and runs around pointing. Konate good again
Its a massive massive win.

22nd February 2026 at 4:34 pm #239879I completely agree with on Gakpo Rob but I canΒ΄t say the same about Salah, he might not have been scoring lately but he has been producing assists, he has been acting more of a playmaker than a goal scorer but I think that is a symptom of Gakpo. The space Salah likes to attack is not there because Gakpo always cuts in, the best seasons we have seen from Salah is when he has a direct winger on the opposite flank, someone that does not hesitate in getting to the byline.
Gakpo maybe ten touches on the ball the whole match, Salah got up to 30-40 touches. That is just work rate and it is Ramadan right, which is the reason why I think Slot substituted Salah.
Our midfield was worse, we could not play through Forest the whole game, there was zero service going forward. The only times Ekitike got on the ball was when he was dropping deep to collect the ball and when we are pressing down the right Gakpo just sits there in space waiting for the ball. Instead of getting on a marker and pressing with the team.
I think he has about 1 goal and 1 assist in his last 15 matches, no work rate, no bravery, no drive for the ball. He just sits there and waits for the ball, the few occasions he actually bothers to be involved something happens. Which is why I canΒ΄t stand him anymore. Cause he is actually a decent player but he canΒ΄t be bothered to work for the ball.
BTW I thought Kerkez had a decent game though, he had 50-60 touches on the ball, only let one attacker get the best of him at the start but nobody else got through him for the rest of the match. I even saw him organizing our press at one time, bossing both Gakpo and Szoboszlai into their right positions.

22nd February 2026 at 4:35 pm #239880Agree on Grav, Sean. Seems Mac is our chief cook and bottle washer in our third line these days. Not utilising Endo in certain matches to keep Grav fresh was a major cock-up.

22nd February 2026 at 4:36 pm #239881Rob that is why I want Ekitike playing on the left instead of Gakpo, put Isak up top that can actually finish those headers.

22nd February 2026 at 4:39 pm #239882In complete agreement with these ratings:
Mohamed Salah 4
Barely involved first half apart from one overhit cross and too easily knocked off ball. Didn’t get much out of Williams second half but did lay off opening for Jones. Subbed.
Curtis Jones 4
Thrown in at last minute due to Wirtz injury and really struggled to hold on to possession before being switched to right-back. Better second half and forced Ortega into save from close range. Subbed.
Cody Gakpo 5
At least put in a bit of a shift before break and actually ran at the Forest defence while cross forced first Liverpool chance second half. Subbed.
Hugo Ekitike 4
One of many to take a knock from the clumsy Sangare and struggled to make any impact and should have scored to make contention over disallowed goal irrelevant.
Needs to be better, a lot better, if we are to make CL.

22nd February 2026 at 4:41 pm #239883Notoriois, Ekitike is a No. 9, that’s what he was bought for. He doesn’t, and will never, play on the left for Liverpool, except in exceptional circumstances.
And definitely not just to accommodate Isak

22nd February 2026 at 4:45 pm #239887Ekitike not helped by often anonymous service but when presented today he didn’t take advantage. That header should have left the net bulging.
Great first season though but needs better service. His goals are coming in fits and spurts, scores in a couple then doesn’t for 6 or 7 (Jota style). Speaking of our beloved Diogo, he would’ve fuckin buried that header today.

22nd February 2026 at 4:49 pm #239889A back issue for Wirtz.
I’m sure he’ll be ‘back’ next week but our injuries usually aren’t just one game.
