I don’t mean Fabinho or fa Gino as he’s otherwise know needs to stand in the right full back position when TAA goes off on one but he needs to do so much more to prevent the ball getting out to a player there. He is bypassed so easily and doesn’t bother to recover leaving the defence exposed. If TAA is upfield then Gomez has to come across leaving the middle wide open.
This isn’t all Fabinho fault the whole defence is a shambles but often people just blame the centre backs without looking at the bigger picture. Elliot’s lack of defensive awareness is costly and ideally he should only play at home against weaker low block teams who don’t have someone that can exploit the right side.

Sean, Klopp has plenty in the Bank so he’s under no immediate pressure but it’s a results based business and FSG will be expecting Klopp to turn things around as I suspect he will.
However if that doesn’t happen ultimately there are no guarantees despite his previous achievements no Manager is immune from the sack if they are not getting results.

I have read the posts with interest about TAA.
He does get caught upfield and unless there is adequate cover that wing is exposed like last night.
It often happens to us with Walker and Cancelo and previously Zinchenco.
The one thing I do agree with about him is that he does want to act as a KDB, which he isn’t and thus loses concentration on his prime position as a defender._____________________________

I don’t think it’s what he wants it what he is told to do. The move infield is a deliberate change of tactic from Klopp I assume to get more through balls to our new more orthodox striker. For me this isn’t working.

Bit hard to disagree, a little bit, I thought we were playing some very nice football in the last third of last season, especailly when Docherty was finally finding his shooting boots. I think the “issue” this year is Royal being ever present (really would like to see Docherty start in the near future) and Sonny’s form falling of a cliff.
Eitherway, not that unhappy with 5 wins and 2 draws from the first 7 games… depsite the quality of football which I’m sure will improve.

Yeah that’s fair Chucky, I reckon. I’ve always said, much rather win playing boring football than lose playing nice football. I’m sure the style will develop.
Interesting game on Saturday Adlab. Was it last season Kane gave that masterclass in number 9 play and Spurs won? They’ve got it in them to make life difficult for City but I think City will just be too strong at home.

Spurs have caught is out more than a few times in recent years but I am expecting a good game. It will be interesting to see how the teams line up and are selected. I would definitely play Alvarez this game alongside Haaland, pace and mobility I think but then again I am not Pep so I think few if any changes apart from Ake maybe back It will be a statesman game but not a decider for both teams I am expecting Spurs to be in top 4 this season

Yeah don’t disagree Steve. Much like Arteta in his first season. The football was awful under him for a while. They parked the bus which won them the FA Cup and very much a side who sat back in the big games. It’s taken them this long to come out and start playing. I can only assume it will be a similar journey for Ten hag at Utd, who just doesn’t have the technical players yet to play how he wants.
