I see that some of you loved the game tonight, so I guess it was just me.. you know how yer not in the mood sometimes but I guess I watched it out of habit.
Still, one thing that i cant wrap my head around was that we were the first English team to ever win all 6 group games? How is that possible!? I am surprised that we havent done it, never mind anyone else. If I heard that from some randomer, instead of reading it on Sky, there’s no way I’d believe it.
Anyway, 8 changes and still won away at the San Siro. Not bad! Bring on the weekend though, 3 points in the PL is far more important than 3 in a group stage that we had already locked up. The rest was the real victory.

Hard to see the CL winner not coming from England this season. Competition isn’t too great. The top Italian sides have been beaten. Barca obviously have had their problems, but Atletico haven’t been particularly great. PSG haven’t looked like they’ve improved greatly either. Which basically leaves Bayern & Real to scrap it out with the English teams, unless there’s going to be an underdog story.

You cannot discount Bayern they are looking just as strong as Chelsea, City and Liverpool.
Liverpool were superb last night. Something like 8 changes and still put in a good performance. Didn’t understand Milan’s thinking, they only attacked with intent around 85 minutes. I think if they won they’d have gone through so why not attack from the start and get the crowd worked up?
Just seen the City highlights. Walker what were you thinking? Good defender probably one of the best 1v1 with his pace but an absolute wally sometimes. Minimum 1 game ban but could be 2.

A good American friend of mine married a from Villarreal. Over the years I’d gotten him into football and programmed him to be a Liverpool fan. He now owns an apartment near their home stadium over in Spain. He’s annoyed that the match is away, cause he wanted to see how crazy it got. That’ll get old fast I think but he does follow them now, so maybe he’ll be ok 😛
I’ll be supporting Villarreal tonight, in hopes that we can draw them soon in the competition.

What a complete farce that Champions League draw was. Now while I don’t necessarily think it was fixed and they got caught out, it certainly does add fuel to the fire for those who think UEFA are a corrupt organisation. My club has certainly lost out in the re-draw. Undoubtedly we would have preferred Salzburg to Inter, and I would have fancied us 95 times out of a 100 to have gone through there, maybe more. Inter? We’re still favourites, but it wouldn’t be the biggest shock in the world for them to beat us, Still give us a 75% of going through, but I preferred the odds against Salzburg, that’s for sure

You’re not wrong there in your estimations HH (IMO). I am still not bitter about Inter, as I like us to take the hard road towards hopefully winning it. Makes it worth more.
We have to show up and if we do, Inter shouldn’t be able to stop us.

Latest cyber fish-wrappings are suggesting that Spuds might be awarded the game 3-0 (and thus putting them through!?!?) because Rennes are playing silly buggers about the re-scheduling for the game… (not that it matters to them, they’ve already qualified one way or the other!)… you couldn’t make this up (but it seems somebody has given it a go!)
