“I don´t think Edwards will sign another contract”

Maybe not, maybe he shifts roles? But if he doesn’t that poses another dilemma, the two immediately above Slot and the ones that make the decision on whether he stays or replaced have only one year left on their contract. Like they’re going to care? They aren’t planning for our long term future anymore.

My opinion is Slot needs to go but also the club needs a change in DoF strategy. Revert back to a manager who has final say in transfers, can identify targets and is supported by a well constructed scouting team. Idenfity what the squad needs and buy players for the managers system. No head coach having to work with what other keep giving him.

So Slot out, but also Edwards and Hughes.

Alonso or Enrique won’t come to work as a head coach.

The club is apparently aware of all the leaks recently so is putting out a lot of information, or rather disinformation, to hide what is in fact the plan. Hence a lot of posts like from Orstein saying he’s staying.

I think with Edwards and Hughes, or at least Edwards, at the helm next season then Slot stays and we reset the following summer if we have a shift in DoF policy.

Don’t want to become Chelsea or Tottenham here, but persisting with something where there is no sign of improvement or glimpses of good games, that is just stupid. Would be different if we played like psg, but somehow didn’t get the results.

I think Slot only goes if the rumours are true that he wants to head back to Holland. Apparently Ajax have approached him, or he could move for the national job.

Bit of a step down taking any club coach role in Holland in my opinion, even Ajax.

3ps let´s for one moment just think about Enrique, you guys are worried about him not wanting to have a DoF but we know that Edwards is not here for a long time.

I would argue that a manager such as Enrique has enough about him to actually be the manager, how he has transformed that PSG side is nothing short of spectacular.

He would have enough aura to make certain demands at Liverpool.

I think Edwards was brought in as a necessity as FSG did not wanna put their trust completely blind on a new head coach, if Slot for example is rumored to want a player I just wanna stay away from them. We keep hearing about these mediocre dutch players.

As soon as a manager such as Enrique, Nagelsmann etc. becomes available we could cut our ties with Edwards once again.

Liverpool with such instabily and uncertainties about their DoF and superior are not an attractive proposition.

You keep saying he won’t be here much longer, but you cannot say for certain. At this time he has one year left and one year is a long time in a managers life. He could extend, they clearly like him higher up or they wouldn’t have brought him back.

Klopp was a superb manager with the highest level of respect and he couldn’t work with Edwards. So why would Edwards agree to bring in someone that will take away his power?

Only way I can see Alonso or Enrique join is if Edwards and Hughes go and there’s a shift in club direction. That’s a lot of upheaval.

If Edwards, Hughes or Slot were here for the long term the club would have extended their contracts. Edwards was not that keen on joining football again, he had rejected United and Chelsea I think before Tom Werner managed to convince him to join the club again. With added responsibilities, they could have given him a 5 year contract but Edwards wanted a 3 year contract. I think he wanted full control until a suitable manager was brought in as the real long term replacement for Klopp.

If Enrique would join us it is inevitable that he takes full control of the club, he is a football fanatic, he does not take leave and go back home to chill with his family. It´s being reported he slept at the training ground in Paris for the first season there. Like he was not the first man in every morning, he was not the last person to leave during the evening. He never left the training ground and that is the kind of devotion we need from our next manager.

Klopp did not wanna stay and sell all of his friends, dismantle the squad, he could not do it. He cared too much about his players. Edwards was brought in to do that and it´s not a long term project, we are gonna have a whole new look to our first team after the summer. We are talking about 20 players gone in 2 summer windows!
