I do not entirely agree with that statement Nil, every time we have had new owners the same argument rises, every time the new owners splash cash everyone is happy and this goes back 70 years. Every time we get someone like H&G we lose our shit.
I just donΒ΄t think the deal will happen as FSG value the club above the reported big, 1.35 billion for 20% might make sense, 1.35 billion for 30% is too low. Half a billion too low.
If it went through, I can actually see us gazumping the opposition in the league, a Amazon logo on our jersey would kill every other sponsor deal we could have. We would likely go above every other club in the world in the money league.

27th July 2026 at 8:57 pm #251486Some interesting comments from players responding to Iraola and intensity in training that they hadn’t experienced in the last couple of seasons.
It’s what we all guessed, right?

28th July 2026 at 9:40 am #251503Yeah I am expecting a new team this season, performance wise, we all knew what the problem was last season.

It was the high fee we paid for Isak, right?

We? Don’t get excited Rob, look at the facts.
In Slot’s first season, when he easily won the league at his first attempt, I distinctly remember both Elliott and Jones saying, in pre-season, that they preferred Slot’s slower possession-based “elegant” Dutch football to Klopp’s heavy metal football. The links to these statements are widely available online.
Results come first, and are the only thing that matter, regardless of how you train, and results are what Iraola is going to be judged on.

28th July 2026 at 6:46 pm #251570I’m sure Elliott and Jones would prefer the slower pace of his sessions as both aren’t exactly the lightning rods of the team are they?
I’m never gonna discredit Slot from winning the PL (very hard to do with any team whether it was adopted or not) and will always be grateful to him but the honeymoon period quickly ended late that season and he and the team never recovered.
The wrapper was off and we all saw what was really underneath. What we saw on gameday is highly likely what the players saw and experienced in Kirkby.
The coach dictates and is wholly responsible for the technical, tactical, physical and mental pillars.

28th July 2026 at 8:02 pm #251589I will discredit Slot for winning it, it was Salah and Van Dijk that won it, they owned the locker room in every way until they singed a new contract and waited for it and ensured everyone was on their toes. Including Slot who immediately fucked off to party with Rooney in Ibiza and then tried his best to destroy the locker room! I bet those fuckers had pictures of him from then!

Total nonsense. Problem is you can’t discredit him, as he won the league absolutely and 100% deservedly. And so easily also, the title was won by April, now only a top elite manager can do that.
Slot slowed down Klopp’s playing style to a more possession based game, and he strategically redeployed Gravenberch and DΓaz to new positions – something that Klopp was incapable of doing with the same exact team.

29th July 2026 at 6:25 pm #251670Rob, I’d say selling Luis DΓaz against Slot’s wishes played a big factor in him failing in his second season. And even worse, not replacing him with another similar top-quality winger meant we missed DΓaz’s world-class output considerably.
Apparently Hughes was after Isak or Barcola last summer, but decided on Isak, and look at how that turned out.

29th July 2026 at 7:59 pm #251682No Slot got lucky, he had no influence over the squad whatsoever and only destroyed the team when given an opportunity to lead. Complete idiot who had no idea about tactics or players ability, you just like him because your half time speech sounded the same.
