ParticipantNunez is very raw. I donโt even think he will start the season . I think he be bedded in like robbo and fabhino etc.
I think Klopp will improve him but if he doesnโt score in his first few pl appearances the trolls be out.

ParticipantAlways the way Sean. nobody gets time these days from our know all critics, all clubs have them
Give the lad at least a full season, I am sure Klopp will handle him well and not bother what anybody says….just right_____________________________

ParticipantI think the idea of 4-2-3-1 has been spoken about and the possibility of Klopp adapting. I don’t like to say this, but unless Henderson is used in the right-hand side, with less game now going forward, I think he’s more of the weaker link for us in the middle. Ideally we can play Tiago and Fabinho.
Nunez just needs to be able to fit into our system in the way we can get the best out of him. I think Salah will enjoy his company ๐

ParticipantYe Brian, unfortunately he wonโt get time because of his fee mate. Itโs like Grealish. Pep said it would take him
A season to bed in but the vultures were out.The fickleness in football drives me spare. Few bad games and players are wrote off. Same as when they have a few games.
The English press are the worst.
One example is Ramsdale. Absolutely over hyped after a decent few ganes.

ParticipantNature of the beast Sean mate. Those summers still feel pretty fresh in my memory when for example we signed Stan back in 1995 for 8.5 million. Huge fee and a huge weight of expectation, but he debuted against Sheffield Wednesday with a cracking curling shot.
If Darwin can produce anything like that, he’ll be a joy. I have a feeling he could be like Nando, if Klopp gets the right style and formation.

ParticipantNil, hopefully Darwin can hit the ground running mate. He has all the attributes to succeed with us but he needs to get off to a good start. Iโm always hugely confident that jurgen can improve any player that we sign.
Also he will be getting great service from our two full backs.poking forward to the new season and watching us play again

ParticipantGoing out on a limb here, but think Carvalho may be as big a signing as Nunez. We really need someone of his ilk in midfield to link up to the attack. I do worry about our other midfielders in general though. Keita overall has been about average. Fabinho I just don’t hold in the same regard as others do, Thiago is injury prone and can be too casual, and Henderson is just someone I see now who helps tick things over. As ever though under Klopp, the overall collective can paper over these things.

ParticipantHopefully a kick up the bum for players. I know not to read too much and we have 37 matches, but dropping points at places where we shouldn’t be dropping points ultimately cost us the league title.
It’s a farce that we lose out twice in 3 years. Manchester City pipping us.
I know there’s huge support for Trent, but sometimes, the man needs competition because let’s be honest, he’s been beaten. Matip too. Konate needs to be the main man.
We’ve lost creativity in our midfield. What is the situation with Ox? What does Klopp intend to do with him? I think we should have gone for a new midfielder in the summer.
Hopefully we get our mojo back next Monday Night which I’m sure we will. It’s early days and maybe this result is better sooner than later so we can learn from it.

ParticipantSean, actually my bad mate. I didn’t realize until I checked how many key players are injured. Yeah, it can only get better. We did well coming back twice, so maybe yesterday wasn’t as bad as I’ve made it out to be.

ParticipantMuch is made of our transfer success, but ยฃ100 million on Keita & Fabinho I donโt think is the best business we did and is perhaps costing us now given the model we have at the club with regards to buying players.

ParticipantI know you not a fan of fabhino mikuis but I think he brought us that level along with vvd and Alisson. We were never as open. Cl win and pl win in his first two seasons. When he doesnโt play well, we donโt.
I get some of your concerns over him. He was dreadful ydsy but is an excellent player for us the majority of the time

ParticipantAs I’ve said before Sean, I think 15 years ago Fabinho would rightly have been considered a top defensive midfielder and I agree he’s a good reader of the game. But in this era of fast flowing football you’ve also got to be quick as a defensive midfielder and he just gets bypassed too easily at times. He’s been a success in the sense that we needed a defensive midfielder and he is one, but I think we could potentially have had more success with one who also had pace.

ParticipantHenderson was the only midfielder taking a shot outside the box. I heard on a radio interview of Eddie Howe, the guy who scored for Newcastle wasn’t supposed to take that shot and the boss would have given him a telling off, so it makes me wonder whether Klopp has instructed anything similar and players just don’t have the license (as they should).
