Ye mak, even when losing the players kept hitting the deck

Thought we did well in the 2nd half. Not a bad game from neco Williams Who seems to be improving. I just hope Thiago can stay fit. He’s a joy to watch. Kind of plays on the left of the midfield 3, pushing inside. Works very hard aswell

Another game for ox who has done well last few games. Getting fitter. Players coning back for more options in midfield

Very very busy period coming up now but really looking forward to all the games

Ox has definitely improved in form and fitness of late.

Watched the highlights this morning, the defending needs working on as a Unit as Porto did have chances to punish us.

Encouraged and delighted most of all we can be expansive in our selection of players and still pick a good first 11. Taki impressive again as with Tsimikas and Nico Williams. These players will grow and we will need to depend on them in the up and coming games.

We need to continue being widespread to avoid our regulars being burnt out by the new year and avoid the risk of injuries.

Sean definitely mate. We’re in a good competing place. We just need to concentrate and work on our own results and hope Man City and Chelsea slip up.

Another really good performance this afternoon with Thiago, Fab and Jota outstanding. But a special word for Robbo…he played today like a man who knows his place is under threat. He was like a man possessed- such energy. His reaction to Tsimikas taking his place was exactly what you want as a manager and he reminded us today why many consider him the best left back in Europe. The bitters next!

Meanwhile if Manu and West Ham could help us out tomorrow…?

Imo Liverpool are going to take this league, City may have the best footballing side but the firepower Liverpool have upfront is frightening. Chelsea have had a good run but there’s still something lacking upfront,too much reliance on other areas, United will bounce back now they made critical changes.

I hope so Blaze but we’ll have to protect the back line better if we’re to have a chance. Not complaining about the direction we’re going, in that regard though. Still, it’ll take time to convince me that we’re through it.

HH, exactly. I got that feeling from the previous match, where Robbo came on. The guy was like a total madman, it reminded me of the run he made against Wolves, at one point.

I was on the late shift so had the Radio on then caught up with MOTD highlights.

I agree with the observation of Tiago made by Alan Shearer. We have on these pages ourselves have drawn out the importance in the role of Tiago. He is back-tracking and protecting those danger areas thwarting really any real threat.

Combined with Henderson and Fabinho, this worked well for us yesterday at Home. We increased our lead and didn’t rest on our laurels this time round. We learned from the experience of Brighton.

Jota has been a fantastic fit for us so far. Mersey Derby next up and available on Amazon Prime 🙂

Hendo is so much better when he’s playing that more attacking role. The midfield of Fabinho, Thiago and Hendo is our best and on their day, it really works so well.

Our only issue here is that none of them can stay fit for the season. I guess we can just hope that we get them together often enough. It’s great to at least have this potential.

Nil, we learned from our races with City that we can only focus on ourselves. The lads will be well used to seeing the competition winning game after game. They won’t be phased by it, we’re blowing teams away now. Pickford was arguably MoTM and they lost 4-1.

That midfield of Hendo, Fab and Thiago is so good. They really complement each other very well and have a good understanding. Henderson seems to thrive in that attacking mezzala position. We’ve seen it a few times already this season when the forward right sided midfielder drift out and links with Salah and a more central Trent.

Henderson motm for me he really was the driving force. Salah was brilliant again and took his goals with so much composure which isn’t easy at the speed he travels. Thought Jota was more involved today than previous games, pressing well and coming deep often. Maybe not yet at Firmino’s level with those aspects but he does other a far bigger goal threat than the Brazilian.

Ye Hendo mom for me threeps. That’s an intimating atmosphere but he really stood up and gave a real captains performance. His goal was excellent. That’s a difficult skill to keep the ball down on your bad foot. Brilliant finish. It’s been fascinating watching his journey. He will go down as a great Liverpool captain

Very disappointed in the goal. It’s just to easy … vvd attracted to the ball, matip abd Taa to wide. Still, brilliant night and another excellent display

Frightening thing is we can still play better but the intensity and stickers of our passing/movement in 1st 20 mins is just a joy to watch .

Jota has been a brilliant signing. He never entered my head has a potential signing until we got him. He’s a poacher but has a lot of other excellent attributes. He’s fast, has two great feet and works his buts off. He was well up for it last night. His touch and passing can improve but what a signing. That turn and finish last night had me honking out of my seat

I said on that other site that I don’t think you should be too harsh on the goal conceded. VvD had to confront the player making the pass as he was beyond the midfield. That meant Matip had to be in the position he was to cover two attackers. I think it was probably Trent that could have done more by reacting to the danger quicker to take the nearest attacker to him from Matip giving a 2 on 2 but he was a little too slow and the gap too big. He looked like he was ready for another attack as already making his way up the pitch and maybe a little complacent.

Ye fair enough on the goal. I was just very pissed off as it gave the crowd a lift and we should have been out of sight.thry really are poor and it was like we have them a glimmer of hope but that’s me over reacting.

We stepped it up 2nd half and totally controlled the gameb
