The way we mess around trying to play out from the back, I’m not surprised we gave that stupid 2nd goal away. It’s been coming for some time. As for Amad, he hasn’t deserved his place for months so why not bring on Mount instead? I really worry about Carrick’s game management. Mainoo is a future captain in the making.

Glad we finally did the double on them, long overdue. Though made that a lot harder than needed. This was not the game to bring Dorgu into, it was evident he hasn’t played for several months. But the more baffling decision is how Mbeumo and Amad keep getting picked when they have both been piss poor for far too many consecutive games. You can have a bad game now and again but I can’t remember the last time either one had a decent game. If Carrick can’t see that, then he can’t be considered for the job. Other worry is he’ll reintegrate Rashford back in the team which will just send the wrong message to the rest of the team.
That’s CL guaranteed, would like to see Lacey get a chance on the right. He can’t do any worse than the other 2 options, who both look lethargic and like they’ve played 100 games this season._____________________________

37% possession at home against a fairly ordinary Liverpool team. Sorry, it doesn’t bode well and it’s pretty much every week. I can’t remember the last time we really thumped someone and I certainly can’t remember us dominating a game, because that’s what top teams do, dominate.

Champions league confirmed.. zero excuse to confirm the next permanent manager as well as which fucker is leaving and the upgrades coming in .. as for the game no one should be surprise about the performance because there has been nothing for months to indicate an improvement since January but good 3points nonetheless.
Mainoo in the middle completes more dribbles than Mbeumo/Amad does in a game so what makes them first team wingers for us??

I’m inclined to agree with Jm about our possession stats. Happy we won obviously however it could’ve been very different if Liverpool had their starting front three on.
There was a period of about 20-30 mins of the second half, after conceding the two goals when we lost complete shape in our midfield. Both Casemiro and Mainoo pushed too far up. There was one incident of Liverpool playing two forward passes through the lines and one of their player getting a shot away from the edge of the box.
It was a great finish from Mainoo but sometimes I struggle to see why Carrick doesn’t put an extra midfielder on when we are so open. Today it worked bring on Zirkee for Cunha not sure it will next time._____________________________

Great start to the game, good first half. Horrible 2nd half and lucky to have won in the end. Amad and Lammens will rightfully take the individual blames for the goals, but there was just little fight and skill in the team overall. If Liverpool were 2-0 up at home against us they’d have gone on to win about 4 or 5 nil… we, on the other hand, are lucky to have won. Changes in mentality and personnel simply needs to happen.
For now, I guess we just enjoy the fact that we’ve made it into the CL.

Agree Dee, no one rates Ugarte and not many rate Mount, but he just had to get another body into midfield. He could even have dropped Dalot in there for physicality and bring Mazraoui on, but he just didn’t. He swapped Zirkzee for Cunha, I mean really?

There was obviously a great chance to put L’pool to the sword with a bit of control and composure today, but as is far too often the case horrific individual errors gift goals to the opposition from absolutely nowhere to let them back in the game.
The pass from Amad was terrible enough, but it still shouldn’t have resulted in a goal except for absolutely pathetic defending from both Maguire and that soft sack of shite Dalot. Fuck knows what Lammens was trying to do just a few minutes later because there wasn’t even a pass on in the first fucking place, and it went absolutely nowhere near a red shirt.
Thankfully Mainoo came up with a great winner to spare our blushes, but today only further highlights all the terrible weaknesses in the first team and the squad in general that need urgent attention this summer otherwise it will be back to finishing comfortably outside of any European places yet again next season, simple as that._____________________________
