I guess if you completely “shite-wash” youngsters since moving from LFC ranks last Summer how well Tyler Morten is doing at Olympic Lyonnaise, Jarrell Quansah is doing at Leverkusen,Caoimhin Kelleher at Fulham,Ben Doak for Scotland and Bournemouth, Harvey Elliot would for most teams if allowed off the bench as for England U21 player of tournament..and James McConnell at Ajax..
Yes Happy’s expansive generous knowledge outside Old Trafford what good has cometh the LFC first team from its academy recently ?????
I think you’ll find LFC fans value Jones above the majority of premier League midfielders and aged 25 he has 7 top honour medals for Liverpool and 1 for England to prove to the most focally challenged observer.
But hey

4th February 2026 at 12:29 pm #238545And the fact you don’t rate Rio Ngumoha or Trey Nyoni coming through, speaks volumes of your football acumen I’m afraid..
Ngumoha similar to Sterling but already twice the player without the Garnacho etc greed disease..

4th February 2026 at 12:52 pm #238547It’s more which players have been considered to have ‘made it’ at the club, to have stayed and been an integral member of the first XI. Even at Man Utd they’re really rare enough. Trent at Liverpool even if he’s now left. Jones? At United, Rashford you could argue ‘made it’ but the environment didn’t help (an environment he contributed to come the end). Greenwood would still be here if he hadn’t been a dickhead, again thinking he’d ‘made it’ before he really had. There’s players breaking through now but they haven’t quite ‘made it’ yet.

4th February 2026 at 1:22 pm #238551I absolutely hear you Killy. We fans are a lot of the problem lacking patience (and managers who don’t rotate.) Most want immediate success (to be fair some of Man U’s more sensible fans backed binning the toxic entitled and going with youth) and have followed the trend of making academies a business. How nobody has raised the issue with selling or buying from feeder clubs as “sport washing” yet ?? Strasborg? Like PIF in the Middle East…Tsimikas must be £100K million player judging by recent Chelsea/City transactions

5th February 2026 at 9:58 am #238560The difference between City and Chelsea is that a lot of their players haven’t gone to ‘sister’ clubs like Girona for City as opposed to Strasbourg for Chelsea. City have used Girona asa buying tool, like with Savinho who was bought by Girona, went on loan and then immediately went to City and played about two matches for Girona.
