29th January 2026 at 9:23 am #238021I agree blacky, I don’t think Dalot can be kept as a starting right back. Despite his limitations he’s honest, and by that I mean that he works, he works hard and doesn’t stop working hard, he doesn’t stop running. Should he be kept as a second choice right back? It depends on who we are more likely to be able to sell, him or Mazrouai. If we can sell Dalot, I’d keep Maz, if we get a good offer for Maz then I’d keep Dalot on the proviso that we use all of that money to get a first choice right back in, unless there’s a good one in the academy which I don’t think there is. At the moment though, Maz should be the undisputed RB with Dalot as backup.

29th January 2026 at 10:47 am #238022But why isn’t he Killy? Why is “Maz” definitely second choice behind Dalot?

29th January 2026 at 11:10 am #238028@happy, we’ll see now this week won’t we? Mazraoui was only back from the CAF and had lost the final in pretty dramatic circumstances so maybe he wasn’t in a good mental place. This week will indicate who is the first choice for real.
@mufc, I wouldn’t say Dalot is complete shite, he’s just not good enough to be starting right back in a team that wants to compete for titles, arguably neither is Mazraoui. I think that one of the two will leave this summer and a new RB will come in._____________________________

29th January 2026 at 11:20 am #238030I think most of us are actually broadly in agreement. None of Shaw, Dalot, Mazraoui will be world class full backs in 5 years time. But it comes down to priorities. We need to sign at least two top quality CM’s this window before anything else
Think we are alright RW. Mbeumo will play there more against weaker teams so him and Amad are great options there
Not sure where these Palmer rumors are coming from but they wont go away. Replacement for Bruno?

29th January 2026 at 11:48 am #238035Mad the stats coming out about Bruno this week. The most chances created, the most passes forward its no wonder he has the most assists in the league this season. Also seen that he is the most untackleable player in the league as well! He doesn’t rely on pace because he plays in runners around him – so i can see him playing at that level for the next few years. If and when we do need to replace him the only other player anywhere close to him would be Cole Palmer, boyhood United fan!

29th January 2026 at 2:03 pm #238040Palmer is a great player on his day but he’s as streaky as bacon and seems to have a history of short niggly injuries. Never long term but missing one or two games at a time because of knee, ankle, thigh injuries. I wouldn’t break the bank to get him if I’m honest.

31st January 2026 at 10:31 am #238111Killy – Is Cole Palmer as streaky as bacon??
2 seasons ago – 48 games with 42 goals and assists
Last season – 52 games with 32 goals and assistsEven this season where he’s been injured for a lot of it he’s played 14 games and has 7 goals and assists.
Looks pretty consistent to me.
Currently the only player in the league who could come anywhere close to replacing Bruno i’d say._____________________________

31st January 2026 at 4:37 pm #238118He can go long periods with doing nothing and then get 5 goals in three games, so yeah, streaky

31st January 2026 at 5:27 pm #238121Mazraoui is as limited as Dalot. I’m not surprised that manager go for Dalot ahead of him because he’s more athletic etc.

31st January 2026 at 6:04 pm #238123happy, I love him as a player and I think if he was fit he’d be brilliant for us, but take a look at his injury record and tell me if that would concern you

1st February 2026 at 9:55 am #238204Killy – If that’s streaky then it’ll do for me. We need a good flat track bully up front anyway, not had anyone like that since Lukaku.
Bob – Hmmmmm. I suppose looking at that he’s only really had 2 big stints out in his whole career? He missed 20 games in the 21/22 season. And he’s missed 18 games this season. I wouldn’t be overly worried about that i don’t think. Remember when RVP came to us with a horrendous injury record, i know he was older and we only got a couple of seasons out of him but he still pushed himself to perform.
If it wasn’t Palmer who else do you think could replace Bruno?_____________________________

2nd February 2026 at 12:06 am #238332tbh happy, I can’t think of anyone good enough to do what bruno does other than palmer. I’m just a bit concerned about his injury record, although maybe I’m being overly worried. what concerns me in midfield is that a definitely past his best casa is definitely our best midfielder as I don’t rate anyone else that we have. I don’t even think the other options at our disposal should even rate as squad players so unless we bring in two brilliant midfielders at a bare minimum and one really solid midfielder as a backup we are fucked next season. palmer doesn’t count obviously as that lad is a no. 10 all day.

2nd February 2026 at 8:52 am #238350Yeah just reading some of the stats on Casemiro today. We really do lose all control of games when he leaves the pitch. Over half the goals we’ve conceded this season have been without him on the pitch. We’ve lost 7 games in all competitions this season and Casemiro didn’t start 5 of them. He will be difficult to replace this summer.

2nd February 2026 at 8:53 am #238351I like what Bruno does but what we want in the long term is a team where everybody chips in by assisting and scoring regularly. Looking back at when we twice won the CL and on both occasions we won 3 league titles on the bounce. 2 things stood out in them periods. Firstly, we never just relied on one player, everybody including the squad players chipped in. Secondly, the strikers didn’t just hang about the box relying on service only. They could pull a rabbit out of the hat on their own, were involved in build up player and were mobile.
