The last transfer window closed on Tuesday, now seems about the right time to kick this off.

3rd September 2026 at 2:19 pm #255663Surprised at the amount splashed by my boys, and generally surprised at the overall turnover with a far few players going too…
Both Zerbi and the majority of fans can have no complaints about the board this year, that’s for sure.
As for those coming in, early days I know… Van Hecke and Tonali aren’t quite living up to their price tags… Fernades is looking good… Savio have a great 20 minutes… Marmoush?? Quiet start but not much help… Robertson, looking his age I’m afraid… can’t say much about the rest…. wait I until I at least see them kick a ball!
As for outs: Liked Danso, always gave 100%, can’t fault a player for that, Romero, headcase and not as good as he thinks he is, Spence… okay, going to miss his versatility, Sarr, see Danso… and as for the youngsters… good luck to em’!

7th September 2026 at 7:28 am #256088Seriously, how difficult is it to get two athletic and mobile midfielders for around Β£100 million? This has been a issue for so long.

7th September 2026 at 9:04 am #256091Well itβs not an issue now mate, because midfield business is done for the foreseeable. We should have had a plan in place for Brunoβs successor, Scott or Wharton, and two young mobile, powerful midfielders. Not difficult is it? But we chose not to achieve any part of that objective.

7th September 2026 at 9:40 am #256098Wharton had been tipped for big things for a while. Back when he was still at Blackburn I heard a Championship podcaster tip him for big, big things, said that he was miles better than any other CM in the Championship at the time. It’s the kind of signing Fergie would have made…..

7th September 2026 at 1:10 pm #256122@jm the only way Bruno gets replaced is if he says he wants to leave and thereβs a fat chance of that happening anytime soon..

8th September 2026 at 9:04 am #256170So we’ve singed this 16 year old lad, Konde, from Liverpool and look like Paige from Leicester is next. Maybe that’s a part of our rebuild plan, to secure some of the best up and coming talent from top academies around the country, with a clear path to the first team. Whilst other clubs are spending Β£100m on players like Spurs we’re trying to get the talent in before they reach that stage. Could be a smart approach.

8th September 2026 at 9:13 am #256172It’s a smart move only if the so called scouts have identified players with real talent, which based on our track record is highly unlikely to be the case. There should always be a pathway through to the first team squad if you’re good enough, but over the years we have seen far too many plod donkeys somehow make their way into the first team squad.

8th September 2026 at 12:20 pm #256190The hope would also have to be that even if they don’t make the first team they will have enough talent to attract the interest of so-called ‘lesser’ clubs and will generate income in the way that City and Chelsea have been doing.

8th September 2026 at 1:58 pm #256194Happy, think weβve also signed someone from Cityβs academy. My initial thoughts were like yours. Unfortunately given our track record, even if we signed the up and coming best talent out of the La Masia. You would hold much hope for them making it. After couple years with us theyβd be shite π.
Who knows hopefully I will be proven wrong_____________________________

8th September 2026 at 7:16 pm #256214Seys of Brugge looks good, full of running, good in attack and good in defence. What’s the bet he ends up in Brighton and we pay Β£70m in three years when we realise that Lewis Hall isn’t actually that great?
