Thought I’d start the next window thread earlier to dump your thoughts, predictions, targets and any old bollocks. It’ll be here before yer know it!
FYI, it opens on Friday January 1 and runs thru 11pm (plus the usual two-hour deal sheet grace period) on Monday February 1.
Following the release of one or two individuals to allow the space, I think we’ll go back in for either Sarr or Minteh and also Camara. Over to you, lads.

19th September 2026 at 7:00 am #257420I dont think we will sign anyone rob unless we sell someone for big money.
We had no money in the summer to buy anyone else. Sarr/minth only were coming if gakpo went
Sarr is 28. Just cant see it. Might get camara in the summer

19th September 2026 at 1:08 pm #257444I think we will be back in for minteh, but only if Brighton accept a reasonable offer. I think he would be perfect for the right wing.
Can’t see us paying what Bournemouth want for rayan.
Hopefully by the end of the year, we will have ekitike, Bradley and leoni back. Bit concerned why leoni is taking so long to get fit.

19th September 2026 at 2:59 pm #257459Before we sign any more non home grown we have to offload some.
The obvious options are Endo and Chiesa.
Endo has less than a year left and is on approx 50k a week.
If we are serious about bringing someone in Jan (and I think we should be) surely Endos contract be cancelled and he can be allowed to leave?
Alternatively sell for a low fee.Chiesa more difficult as he’s 18+mths left and on 150k a week approx.
What club is prepared to take on the player with those wages?I cannot see all 3 of Leoni, Ekitike and Bradley all back before the end of the year.
Leoni possibly.I don’t think we’ll do more than 1 in Jan but I hope we do.
For me it’s a holding style midfielder or right sided attacker.
Rayan asking price is ridiculous.
Cameras seems far more reasonable and his club need to free up money/space.
Minteh a possibility but need to see how he recovers from the injury and if the price is reasonable._____________________________

21st September 2026 at 3:17 pm #257746Perhaps not necessarily one for the winter but Allison’s contract is up in 2027.
He turns 34 next month and we know his injury history.
However so far this season (and I get its only been a few games) he’s been looking really focused and in control.
He really suits our style of play and between him and Virgil they have been really marshalling the defense.
He makes the good stuff just look routine, and so when another keeper comes in we notice the difference immediately.
I don’t know if he’s happy to stay, there were links to Juve earlier in the year, but if he continues this we should be looking to giving him an extension.
His experience and communication are invaluable particularly with so many young defenders.
Van Dijk another who may possibly warrant a new contract considering the leadership qualities with he amount of youth about the squad.Marma, while a good shot stopper, isnt a good distributor or controls his area particularly well.

21st September 2026 at 3:42 pm #257749I wonder if the Director of Football appointment may make January difficult? Depends how quickly they get someone in and how well connected they are.
We are also presuming there are no major injuries between now and the end of Feb.

21st September 2026 at 7:20 pm #257754Ye Alisson going be a real concern ginger. World class keeper
I think hes very conscious of that hamstring and more careful with going long from the deck. Keepers can play for longer. Huge oity about kelliher. Ive no doubt he could be first choice for us but i can understand why he left. Marma doesnt command box and vant sweep like Alisson
Vvd can play at the highest level like thiago silva for another year or two, we need to keep him.

22nd September 2026 at 12:14 pm #257764It seems like Carra is really desperate to pay of that tax bill

24th September 2026 at 12:17 am #257810For reference Wirtz has 18 goal contributions since the start of last season, Palmer has 18 and Foden has 19. My point being is that Carra is going bankrupt if he does not pay his taxes and is taking every kind of bribe to piss all over the current team.

26th September 2026 at 9:20 am #257894Julian Ward is back as our sporting director.
He signed the superlative Luis DÃaz, Darwin Núñez, Cody Gakpo and Alexis Mac Allister, all very clever, value for money signings, who ALL delivered the title for Liverpool.
So let the good times roll again.

26th September 2026 at 9:29 am #257897Ward also recouped most of the outlay on DÃaz and Núñez when they were sold for a combined £110m.
Great business, and hopefully more to follow.

26th September 2026 at 9:54 am #257904And btw both DÃaz and Gakpo were signed by Julian Ward in January, two highly successful signings of the ultimate highest order and consummate professionals

26th September 2026 at 10:09 am #257906And for the record, Ward actually stayed beyond his departure date as sporting director in order to finalize the club’s move for Alexis Mac Allister.
Jörg Schmadtke signed Gravenberch, Szoboszlai and Endo, but not Mac Allister.

26th September 2026 at 1:51 pm #257917He just went on sabbatical to enjoy time with his newly born kid, we do not have to worry about this position, I honestly don´t think it matters much who is our sporting director as long as they are not complete dickheads. It has not made any difference in the past who is sitting in this role since FSG took over almost. Or at least not since they found the right formula to work with.

27th September 2026 at 6:57 pm #257957Actually it matters greatly who our Sporting Director is.
Julian Ward was partial to Latino or Primeira Liga signings, which worked to great effect.
And he never paid way over the odds for a player, even once, unlike Richard Hughes who did this several times.
He’s a shrewd operator who also likes buying big players in January. Hope he can surpass his earlier big signings.

27th September 2026 at 7:50 pm #257960There has not been any difference between the directors we have had in the past decade songman, each of them has fulfilled the job requirements

27th September 2026 at 8:38 pm #257963Stick to facts, not fiction Notorious.
Hughes spent a massive £240m on just two players in one window, one of whom, Wirtz (the most expensive player in the league at the time) has had minimal impact, 15 months after joining Liverpool.
Ward on the other hand, ALL his big signings succeeded immediately, or soon after, and crucially all of then were reasonably priced.
So it is blatantly obvious not all Sporting Directors at Liverpool have had the same track record.

27th September 2026 at 9:32 pm #257967In Realism to where we proposed to be with the new Consortium, this is supposedly a new Vehicle to exercise getting their teeth in (should this have been a T and C).
Good going I would hazard a loan, somebody experienced or somebody elsewhere not at a point where they could do with a break and we can Capitalize.
Andoni Smiles in January 🙂 🙂
