The result today was great. Always thought we’d win especially it being the first home game and how we preformed at Hull.
That said we got fortunate with the slip for the first goal (fantastic pass from Cunha and finish from Bruno) who incidentally was brilliant second half. I still have concerns regarding our midfield. We need Baleba to hit the ground running. Away against the top teams I feel we need to start with an extra man in midfield in place of one of the forwards. Not sure if Carrick has the balls to do this

Mainoo looked good. Looks trimmed down was positive with his passing and trying to be creative. He actually put a shift in but the muppet next to at CM really looks average. Mainoo and Rashford looked out most match fit players.

Whilst he fucked up for their goal at the end I thought Martinez was good yesterday. He brings a calmness to the defence and the other players feel more confident when he’s in the team. They also flashed up a stat at the beginning of the game that showed our win percentage when he plays vs when he doesn’t – it didn’t make for good reading!
I think he’s our most import defender and his fitness probably dictates our season in terms of finishing in the top 5.

Oh that first half was hell. I was watching it with my bro in law who’s a Town fan. Seeing Enciso and then Fatawu run past Shaw like he wasn’t there was horrible to watch.
Surely they can’t go into the season without at least a very good understudy to him?

Just watching the goals again wow Bruno Fernandes. His pace for the first goal was surprising wasn’t it?

Martinez, as I said during the game, played some lovely through balls. Trouble is, he can’t defend. Too slow, too small and a constant liability in the challenge. Symptomatic of our defenders in general, they’re all an accident waiting to happen.
