Bruno is part of the problem Steve. Great individual player with top stats but there’s a reason he’s played under 6 different managers in his time at the club. He’s been the captain for most of his time and undoubtedly most influential presence in the changing room. Yet, except for the odd spell we’ve been completely shite the whole time he’s been at the club. A massive part of our lack of a clearly defined system or patterns of play is because 80% of what we do goes through him. One thing i always thought Fergie did well in the early days was knowing when to move players on. It puts a market down to the rest of the squad. Ineos should have taken the ยฃ100M that was on offer from the Saudi’s. Mad to me that they are talking about extending his deal again when he is 32 soon.

22nd August 2026 at 9:18 pm #253991There are not enough smart people at the club who know Bruno should be moved on โฆ and his post match presser was absolutely horrible considering he was a massive part of that clanger of a performance.
Also anyone expecting any sort of reaction from Carrick knows nothing. The hull manager said they trained specifically for set pieces against us because they noticed how wide we defended set pieces ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ

23rd August 2026 at 1:31 am #253998@N1xer-Yep mate, said it at the time and many in here too. Take the money and invest in a new player. Now we have Bruno and Mainoo with the reinvented midfield Santos and Tielemans. By the look of it today and before that against Milan they need to buckle up big time. Mentally and physically. I don’t think the current players and manager are capable of it. Hull was too big for us. The real culprits are the decisions makers at the club. Holy shit, this can be ugly.

23rd August 2026 at 1:53 am #253999This is spot on;”Ralf Ragnick made this statement 4 years ago and was hounded out of this club.
Mourinho came in spoke of football heritage and was chased out.
Amorim came in and made it clear to the board that he was the manager of the team and not a coach and he was sacked.
These are coaches that understood the problem of this club and could have solved it if they were backed by fans and the club.
Of particular concern is Amorim, he understood what needed to be done and went about it by clearing the deadwood but United fans only wanted him to win games forgetting we hired him for a rebuild.
Rebuilds are hard, difficult and painful.
It took Klopp 3 seasons and took Arteta 5 seasons but their clubs were willing to back them and stick with them.
Manchester United is happy to bend to the whims of fans and sack managers without dealing with the main problems.
We need to rebuild this club and Michael Carrick is not the man to do the job, we need a forward thinking manager.
Any coach who wants Rashford back in his squad is not a serious coach and should be sacked.

23rd August 2026 at 7:41 am #254000Fair enough Zico, and youโre right, a number of us were calling for the sale of Bruno at least two seasons ago. And mostly for the reason N1xer has come up with and that Iโve said before, because heโs so dominant a personality and player in the side, the others become almost incidental, just servicing Bruno.
Amorim was doing the right thing in clearing out, but his inability to bite the bullet and play a system that suited the dross he was working with was his downfall. You canโt argue with the results, and they were fucking awful.
So what do these clowns do? They revert to the old ex player, fans favourite routine. Could easily have been Giggs, maybe Ruud. I mean, it must be the turn of Steve Bruce or Hughsey next. These cunts are totally fucking clueless.

23rd August 2026 at 8:28 am #254001They’ll turn to Eddie Howe if he’s still available if/when Carrick gets the boot, of that I am 100% certain. It’s a ‘perfect’ appointment for those fuckers because he will cost them fuck all in compo, and they can trot out the usual BS about what a great job he did at Newcastle etc etc.

23rd August 2026 at 9:27 am #254003Glazers and now INEOS seems to be the worst combo of owners we could have. The decision makers at the club have been atrocious since David Gill. Now there is rumors about Ratcliffe is interfering with which players to buy. The torture just never stops for us.

23rd August 2026 at 9:39 am #254004@Zico it will only get worse just you watch it โฆ when midweek Champs league and travel time gets added these lot will not be able to cope. What pisses me off the most is that when Carrick took over as interim manager he kept things basic and played people in their right position while playing fast paced football but all of a sudden he sees himself as the new Luis Enrique or Pep with the 4 forwards continuously switching positions, leaving the midfield two isolated and focusing on attacking through the middle.
These same lot canโt even maintain a 4goal lead and he thinks he can emulate the PSG strategy at Man UTD.

23rd August 2026 at 9:59 am #254005I cant fucking stand Alan Shearer. Probably the player i hate the most from that era of the PL but saw a headline this morning where he said we don’t look fit and i think that is spot on. The team looks really lethargic with zero energy. Once the CL kicks in we are going to be even more fucked with 3 games a week. Mbuemo who is meant to be one of the more athletic players made a covering run in the first half yesterday and he had his arms up high pumping like fuck ala Forest Gump. After he was blowing out his hoop. Tielemans and Santos won’t work as a CM pairing. Tielemans doesn’t have the legs and Santos looks heavy. He needs to get on that Casemiro diet and we’re going to have to hope Baleba hits the ground flying and recaptures his form of a few seasons ago.

23rd August 2026 at 11:07 am #254014We’ve signed 7/8 players this summer and last. How many of those would you describe as aggressive, physical or plays with any sort of intensity? Fucking none with the hopeful exception of Baleba? Therein lies the fundamental problem with this team. I still don’t understand the signing of Tielemans? He is just not what we needed.

23rd August 2026 at 11:26 am #254015Carrick is the apologist to the owners and players. You can’t have a Mr Nice guy handling the primadonnas. You have to cover ground in PL.

23rd August 2026 at 11:36 am #254018@Sydney – Are you @Yorkshire from TT?
And in answer to your question, it’s precisely none and that’s down to a clueless recruitment team and a manager who is just grateful to have got the job for however long it lasts.
As for Baleba, I’ve never seen him flying into a single tackle or putting it up the opposition in any way shape or form, so don’t hold your breath._____________________________

23rd August 2026 at 12:10 pm #254020We needed two fucking beasts to patrol in fromt of our back four, anyone who couldnโt see that is fucking deluded. That was for starters and we could have picked up the likes the lad Sangare by shopping in France. Then we needed two full backs, we havenโt got one decent one at the club. A CB because ours are either knackered, too fucking inexperienced or just plain not good enough. Then a back up striker, someone like that fucking monster Thiago at Brentford.
But donโt worry, the window has been an unmitigated success. The remit was to go shopping in the bargain basement, and thatโs exactly what weโve got. The bigger worry though, is that the two so called successes from last summerโs window, Cunha and Mbeumo, have been fucking shite and get worse by the game. Sesko apart, if you tried to sell any of last summer and this summerโs incomings, youโd get two fifths of fuck all.

23rd August 2026 at 1:33 pm #254023I am just numb after yesterday’s debacle. I wonder what was Carricks thinking as the ball was kicked off. Was his plan for Tielemans and Santos to control the midfield allowing Bruno to pull the strings and Mbeumo and Cunha to score at will? He must have had some plan and idea…… surely??

23rd August 2026 at 1:38 pm #254025Yes Blacky, the best city in the world and the biggest and greatest county in England! I’m sure you will agree lol!!!
Disagree on Baleba, I watched him a few times 2 seasons ago and he certainly has it in him to be a real powerhouse. Not saying it will happen after last season but I live in hope._____________________________
