Nine, I would take that now mate with open arms. Nowadays the way the industry is, not many Managers now hold any real length of service beyond 2/3 years. Maybe at that point that could be an opportunity for a certain Steven Gerrard to step into some very big shoes.

Nil, I agree mate if Klopp sticks around for another 4/5 years that would be a result for Liverpool and if Klopp can strengthen other areas of the team that need strengthening like the Keeper position with what you’ve already got I can potentially see a title win in that period.

Ken Bates bought Chelsea for £1 or some say £10, but took on £1m of debt, yes we nearly did a Leeds but Roman bought us in the nick of time. The story goes he looked at Spurs but Chelsea had CL football.

The manner of the accumulation of his wealth has been questioned by some, but commitment to his club has not been so, unlike Man U and Liverpool where there has been discontent by the fans.

I’ve never heard a bad word about Roman from a Chelsea fan, so as the new breed of owners go he has to be one, if not the best….Pagan

Pagan, I know for a fact that there was more than one interested party in buying Chelsea back then but Roman was obviously the richest.

The biggest part of the debt accrued was in the rebuilding of the ground and the Chelsea Village which was Ken’s vision of it all being eventually all self financing.

All Chelsea fans acknowledge the club’s good fortune in getting Abramovich as an owner and the part it played in our success there’s no need for all the snide side swipes and the bitterness.
