Not a fan of Gary Neville, not a fan of champagne socialists in general (hyprocrites of the highest order, employing accountants to avoid taxes while preaching the virtues of the working class!), but even he is entitled to his own opinion.
Unfortunately, the flag thing is a double edged sword issue. On one hand, of course people can be patriotic and fly their flag… but we all also know those numpties on the far right also like to “gather under that banner” so to speak. It’s a very fine line between the two.
Unfortunately, the UK is seemingly adopting the American (Trump!) thing of allowing mild racism (by some, not all!) under the disguise of patriotism. That idiot ‘Tommy Robinson’ being a prime example.

That being said, flag flying in this country does come with a bit of stigma, like it or not. Prime example being Tommy Robinson who is a prat and racist. Only calls out grooming gangs when they’re Muslim. The edl had 109 convicted paedos in its midst, 22 of which were known to TR personally, 9 of which were close friends.

This is the reason that Tommy and the far right have stopped using the Muslim grooming gangs lines. Because 2 or 3 people per month are being jailed for these offences, they have all been to protests and were at the riots last year. DH, I was speaking across the scale mate. Farage recently labelled a Racist by a certain person. You’re entitled to your views, but if you’re not aware already, Tommy Robinson was engaged in a meeting recently that was posted online with a female who of a Muslim background. This thrashed our in length and seemingly was amicable between both parties.
Personally, I just think the division is caused more from the left. We need to come together. Ultimately, if people aren’t able to get behind our Flag and values we represent, then this is not the country for you.

We all know that the flag flying he started by Tommy and like minded people rather than actual people who cared for the country creating a divide rather than making everyone feel at home. I mean, I was born in the uk, work, pay tax, yet I still feel divide when seeing the flag. Yes it’s my countries flag but you can be patriotic in other ways.
