City deserved the win, they had all the decisions going against them for the whole game probably why the ref felt obligated for that penalty soft or not. Not to mention it’s very tough playing with 10 men for such long periods.

Football’s a contact sport. What the law needs to be clear on is whether contact made warrants a foul. That was not a foul irrespective of this situation being in the box. It’s not a Penalty. De-bruyne is a DISGRACE!
And all the other decisions that may or may not have been against City does not warrant justification for this Pen to be given.

Just seen it, yeah thats a pretty terrible dive by De Bruyne. Not sure what previous decisions or finding it tough playing with 10 men have to do with a poor refereeing decision and unsportsmanlike conduct. VAR not get involved? Not that I would have any confidence in that coming to a correct decision either!

Certain quarters related to the sport just pander to City the way they did to United, so not much difference here.
Aside my team, this is becoming a turn off and of a disinterest albeit a good story from Leeds. This PL is just a corrupt league that’s fed off by corrupt quarters.

De Bruyne dived like that to make it look dramatic but as any idiot can see there was clear contact and that’s why they gave the penalty. It was a 100% definite. Blame the players that are so stupid to always give away penalties at such vital times or at any time for that matter. It’s always hard to take when your rivals win it at the last minute. Don’t show your envy, take it with a bit of class after all how many times didn’t your teams win controversially in the last moments.

Some good matches today. Each game each week can come under the microscope for teams not picking up results consistently and to a degree, much hinges upon good refereeing.
Yesterday was absolutely appalling. If I personally see this again even for my team, I’m giving this up. There was no contact. The player is a disgrace and gone down in my estimation.

De Bruyne clearly over dramatised it but there was illegal contact from the Fulham player, he kicked de Bruyne on the bottom part of his back leg whether it was done accidentally is irrelevant. None of the Fulham players even protested the decision. I am also against these type of decisions given as definite penalties, we all got away with so much worse when I was still playing not that long ago. But then they must change the law or clear it up.

No, agreed Nine. We all have them. The media defending him and calling it clever is ridiculous though. There’s no way they call that clever on MOTD if that’s Salah, Bruno or the like.

Ed, fully agreed. Those players cited have been pulled up by people in the past and rightly condemned for their actions. We’re referring to the here and now.
It’s not about being holier than thou and jumping on the bandwagon for the sake the next available meal ticket. Some fans out there clearly are disgusted and simply dismayed by it all.
Personally, I don’t watch MOTD highlights for the very reason I feel the BBC designed the pundits to be sat on the fence and not passionately speaking what they actually feel.
What would Mum’s and Dad’s teach their children when they are participating? To dive or to be honest?

If that’s deemed contact enough for a foul we ahould give fouls every 10 seconds of the game. It’s a contact sport and that was a blatant cheat and very poor refereeing. If Salah did that the City fans even on here would be in disgust. Blueson your comment was the only one showing a lack of class.

I watched the highlights literally just now. Always in my view a little better to watch the following morning once the dust has settled a bit and you’re feeling fresh.
Cancelo was harsh, but unfortunately a letter of the law; I’m thinking a goalscoring opportunity denied so a straight red.
Offside was tight call on Haaland, but the lines show he was just off.
Real time looks like a pen on KDB, but I think we need possibly new laws implemented where the Captain of the opposition team can request for a Video Check and in each match, they would be allowed up to 2 calls.
