Fast and Furious! 3 games now over the next week. Fulham at Home Sat, Spurs Home in the League Cup Wed and then Bournemouth Away a week on Sunday. Whoosh!
This fixture last season saw us yield three points courtesy of first half strikes from Rio and Mo. We needed that win on the back of three straight defeats. Rio’s goal gave him the accolade of the youngest Liverpool Premier League goalscorer at Anfield at the ripe old age of 17 years and 225 days. It was a fairly even game though with us shipping the usual shit ton of shots and most expected another late capitulation seeing as up to that game, we’d conceded two or more goals 18 times in the last 20 minutes of our PL games. They had a goal ruled out for offside, missed a free header and Smith Rowe cacked his kecks from 12 yards out. What an abysmal season last season was. Sheesh.
Saturday we must win because we’ll likely cock it up at Bournemouth. 5 goals we conceded against Iraola last season. Surely he’ll have a fix for that? π
Who will start Saturday. Expecting pretty much full strength and then rotate against Spurs.
Alisson, Araujo, Jacquet, VVD, Kerkez, Mac, Szobo, Wirtz, Gapko, Isak and Munoz is who I’m going for. They’ll manage Barcola. He could start though if Cody ain’t fit.
Fulham have had a rough start. I thought they might. They lost a good manager in Marco Silva. I liked him. Passionate. Started the season off in good spirit in a narrow 3-2 home defeat to a stacked Chelsea team, lost 1-0 at Sunderland then got beat 3-2 at home to Palace last Saturday. They’re not getting pasted but they’re conceding goals.
A return to Anfield for Arbeloa but a return that will end in defeat.
Liverpool 3 Fulham 0 (Munoz, Isak and Wirtz…but don’t be surprised at Fulham scoring or even taking the lead).

11th September 2026 at 6:28 am #256490Fulham seem to be in disarray under Arbeloa, with whispers of players unhappy with him and fans already booing the team. He’s favorite to be first boss sacked.
Seems they are pretty good going forward but a mess at the back. Don’t know the details but you’d fancy our front line to cause issues.
Josh King is a player of theirs that has a bright future in the game.

11th September 2026 at 7:46 am #256495They are going to have to give Isak a rest at some point given his propensity to break down. Perhaps a starter both weekends and then Gakpo v Spurs in the week?
I suspect Iraola is going to want to get things done early and then bring off players if he can. Would be good for Jacquet to get some rest and Gomez brought on if deemed fit enough.

11th September 2026 at 12:08 pm #256511Arbeloa has a long history of making feuds out of nothing, it would not surprise me to see him sacked first. He has already alienated some of his Fulham players.

11th September 2026 at 12:09 pm #256512A must-win game here, fairly self-explanatory. Team picks itself, Rio instead of Barcola if he hasn’t recovered from his cramps.
Now let’s do it, and once again, I MUST emphasise, no silly mistakes, we have to dominate from start to finish, and with a clean sheet.
Alisson
AraΓΊjo Jacquet Van Dijk Kerkez
Mac Allister Szoboszlai
MuΓ±oz Wirtz Barcola

11th September 2026 at 12:40 pm #256520Iraola is very clever, he gives Gravenberch 20-30 min each game to keep him involved and freshen up the midfield, and give him a chance to prove himself.
And subs Mac Allister around the 70 min mark, in the previous 3 games.

12th September 2026 at 9:56 am #256545These guys bottom of the table and winless under Arbeola (Remember him?!)
This should be 5-0 to Liverpool as a 3’O Clock traditional game at Anfield for the faithful. The guys from the Consortium may attend who knows.
Let’s nail our first League win under Andoni and continue to enjoy this new ride π

12th September 2026 at 1:14 pm #256551Should win. Many thought we’d beat Spurs at Anfield last season when they had a dozen injuries.
I was dubious.

12th September 2026 at 1:28 pm #256552Rob oh yes. Common denominator though was the X Factor of that debacle if you know what I mean.
Different Vibe now with Andoni.

12th September 2026 at 1:48 pm #256553I think Barcola will start. If he’s cramping up due to low minutes, then the correct antidote is more minutes.

Glad Tsimikas has been given a chance.
Got to keep an eye on Josh King.

12th September 2026 at 2:03 pm #256557We need to be careful here. Everyone expecting us to walk this. Very rarely turns out that way. We need to be on top of berge and grav needs to take his chance
