Jm 1502, Regarding the penalty, if the shoe was on the other foot, and Fulham scored from an incorrect decision to give a free kick, Silva wouldn’t say a thing.
Blacky, Regarding Mount. Without bothering to look (can’t be arsed) not sure when his contract ends. Personally I think the club will keep him and make a decision (most likely to sell him with 18 or so months to go). It is alarming the amount of games he’s missed. However if we do manage to get CL football next year we’ll need a bigger squad ( Mount knows he won’t be a starter) however he’s not a disruptive influence on the group and will be happy to play bit part role.
Don’t get me wrong we definitely shouldn’t offer him a new contract and due to the fact that I can’t see any other club wanting him this summer. I don’t think he’s top of the pile to get rid, he’s in the tray below 😂_____________________________

2nd February 2026 at 8:47 am #238348Good to get a win but the penalty brings up an issue. Long-term we want to push high and press as this is how the top teams play. This includes the back 4 who need to push up to the halfway line. Their penalty shows what happens when Maguire pushes up even only 15 yards outside of his box, he gets skinned alive he is so slow. Naturally his instinct in all situations is to drop back, we need a CB next season who can defend but is also quick and can push high up.

2nd February 2026 at 8:51 am #238349If Yoro and Heaven don’t come off, we’ll need 2 CBs MUFC. Maguire, De Ligt and Martinez are all slow mate.

2nd February 2026 at 8:55 am #238352Need one of Yoro and Heaven to pay off to save money, if they end up being shit we’ll literally need a whole new load of CBs.

2nd February 2026 at 8:56 am #238355Martinez is one of the best defenders in the league so the defence should be built around him. I have high hopes for Heaven but i’m less impressed with Yoro every time i see him. De Ligt is the big question mark. He was having a very good season until that weird injury. So not sure if he can be relied upon and Maguire certainly can’t be for next season. So we probably should be in the market for a CB and a Right Back as well as our obvious midfield rebuild. And a No. 2
And if Zirkzee goes then a replacement for him also.
So its still a summer of 6 players coming in minimum._____________________________

2nd February 2026 at 9:12 am #238356@happy – How can you build your defence around a guy who has only started 59 out of a possible 138 PL games over almost 4 years? And are you now seriously suggesting that he’s better than Phil Duncan Edwards Jones mate?!🫣🫣😂😂😂

2nd February 2026 at 9:14 am #238357Martinez is good Happy but is he quick? Eventually for success we’ll need our backline to push up in order to play a high pressing game. Sitting deep is ok for now but it only gets you so far, I want to see how Martinez does when we play a high line and he copes when we get caught on the break, especially by quicker players.

2nd February 2026 at 9:16 am #238358@Diggy – The fucker has still got almost 2.5 years left, if we can move him on for anything over 20 mill and get his 250k off the books we most certainly should snap their hands off.
Not only that it would free up the number 7 shirt again, just the mere thought of him wearing it makes me want to puke._____________________________

2nd February 2026 at 9:19 am #238359@mufc – Maguire was left exposed yesterday because that useless bag of shite Dalot went AWOL yet again which should not be happening when we’re already two goals up in the 85th minute. Honestly, the guy is just brain fucking dead.

2nd February 2026 at 9:26 am #238362Blacky I get what you mean by if we press high this will happen. My point is in a straight sprint outside of our box Maguire will always get dusted. You do want cover when necessary but this isn’t always possible. Have seen interviews with Rio and Stam saying that as a CB you have to be prepared to be left isolated and deal the situation in hand.

2nd February 2026 at 9:37 am #238365Oh yeah, no doubt mate. Just highlighting yet another instance where Dalot has failed to do the basics which end up costing us a goal.

2nd February 2026 at 10:35 am #238370Haven’t you all notice by now that majority of the goals we concede always comes from whichever flank Dalot is playing at and it’s no coincidence that whoever plays as a CB next to him always suffer either the right side of the defense or when he played LWB.
@Happy how did you come up with d Summary that Martinez is one best CB in the league; he is doing okay so far yes but to say one of the best is a long stretch.
As for Mount staying on and being a bit part player while earning 250k is pure ludicrously; just like news circulating of Carrick wanting Rashford to come back n play for us..

2nd February 2026 at 11:06 am #238374Well with Phil Jones injuries ruined his entire career. Martinez has had 2 really bad, unlucky injuries. He’s not getting shitty little Mason Mount injuries. And he’s returned back to his best after both. Phil Jones never returned back to those levels again.
Martinez has just turned 28 so coming into his prime now too. Hope he stays fit as he’s a warrior with a great attitude to defending. How he was stronger than haaland the other week for a full game is beyond me._____________________________

2nd February 2026 at 11:44 am #238379Amad,Lammens, and the youngsters should be the only players that are not for sale.Otherwise, every single one of them has a price! And make sure no one gets a new contract, simple!

2nd February 2026 at 11:49 am #238381Doesn’t matter how tall he is when he can outjump and outmuscle Haaland mate.

2nd February 2026 at 12:11 pm #238383@happy – The main thing that ruined Phil Jones ‘career’ was a lack of basic fucking talent. As for Martinez, whichever way you spin it he’s still a crock waiting to happen so giving him a big new 4 or 5 year contract at nearly 28 years of age would be yet another suicidal decision by the club, simple as that.

2nd February 2026 at 12:17 pm #238384Happy is the epitome of wats wrong with the club; an above average player with a dodgy medical history does well for a few games and you rave about building the team around him plus also possibly giving him an improved contract.. martinez is currently the better of a really average bunch and that’s it; at least until he starts downing himself.
Also Amad needs to start delivering goals and assists consistently, he does get into good positions and can beat his man easily on the flank but he has to start placing his shots much better..

2nd February 2026 at 12:47 pm #238389Take your point about the penalty call mate, just pointing out that it was clearly a poor call by VAR to comment on what happened outside the box when that’s outside their jurisdiction. I also think Spurs’s first goal should have been disallowed yesterday when Solanke clearly played the back of Guehi’s leg and not the ball. How VAR didn’t call it to be reviewed is beyond me.
