As long as Maguire doesn’t grapple with his own players on set pieces we should be in with a shout. Seriously though, all our defensive work this week needs to be on set piece defence, we’re a fucking disaster.

The team is too small as a whole, hardly any 6 footers who want to go and actually compete for headers and risk getting a stray elbow or colliding with an opponents noggin.

@Dee – No amount of coaching will persuade you to put your body on the line if you are as soft as shit deep down. Yoro in particular cost us a couple of goals at least last season with his preference for turning his body sideways to avoid getting hit with a goal bound shot, when in fact he should be doing the exact opposite. He’s obviously spent too much time training with that soft cunt Lindeloaf, who always does exactly the same.

Yeah, mate. Yoro is afraid of blocking a shot same as Lindelöf. Seen it many times. He is poor as a cb because his positioning is appalling. Can’t read the game. I thought when he was playing with Maguire he would learn better but it seems that project is over. I would use him as a rb only and try Mazraoui as a cover for Shaw. We can’t have Dalot as lb as we have seen many times before.

Yoro for me has been a disaster. I actually rate Heaven, but he is only young, still only 19 about to turn 20, but I rate him as a prospect, not as the finished article. Yoro on the other hand I just can’t see coming good at any point. He doesn’t do one thing that I think wow.

@blacky i disagree with you on that; Coaches like Mourinho, Zidane, Simeone, Allardyce, Allegri and even Arteta can make the softest defender/player run through a brick wall for them and continuously put their body on the line for their team. The whole team lacks that nasty streak about them but yeah i do agree about Yoro and i was hoping he would have developed a brutishness about him by now…
Note: this Generation of male footballers are the softest humans ever; heck sometimes even the WSL is even tougher than these lot.Set pieces today will be a battle due to height and size differences.

Sesko on the bench again, so a guy who isn’t suited to playing through the middle is playing through the middle. Is this so Carrick can accommodate big nose on the left, or does he just not rate Sesko, or is Sesko not fit, in which case why’s he on the bench?
I detected a poor body language from Sesko the other week when he came on. Is that because he’s not fully fit or because he’s being benched again? Carrick had a habit of using him sparingly last season._____________________________

I think Sesko has been rushed back hasn’t he? He was injured for a good few months. He’s had absolutely no pre season whatsoever. So he’s clearly not fully fit yet and they’re managing his minutes from the bench.
