Klopp would put out the kids occasionally for cup games (and others) with varying degrees of success but at least you could see how they were trying to play even if it wasn’t executed perfectly.

I see no coherent plan here; just like other games this season.

Anyone not thinking that these performances, tactics and results isnt the death rattle of a manger….
Is it any wonder the 1st team aren’t playing happy, the tactics are incoherent, the instructions are baffling.
The rot started the last 10ish games of last season, it was inevitable down turn.

I’m not going to say I don’t care about this result. Losing 3 nil at home is never acceptable for us. But the players needed taking out of the firing line. Hopefully, fools hope probably, we come out swinging against Villa.

Can Slot use it effectively?

It’s make or break for Slot with the Villa game.
And a scrappy win won’t cut it. We need to see real progress in our play or what’s the point?!

We lack confidence and any pick up, so we can’t really put together something purposeful.

Yep Fulcrum Agree. I think quite simply, its unfair to surrender (which is what we have done so cheaply) competitions.

Makes zero sense considering the multi millions spent over the summer to rebuild and strengthen.

Yes but Harry, that just means we get completely torn apart by RM and City.
We need to see real progress on the pitch, in our play otherwise…sure we could scrap a few wins but we are still going backwards.
We are out of the league cup.
We are probably already out of the title race.
We have to qualify for the knockout of CL, and at present everyone will be wishing they draw us.
Getting a scrappy win will do nothing for our progress. It will just delay inevitable.
Where-as if we see real progress, smart tactics and individual growth but drop points it indicates that maybe the coach is the right guy.
You could always see what Klopp was building to, even when results were poor.
But right now we are at sea.
A win vs Villa is not enough. We need to see progress

It could help stop the rot. From the first loss of this run against Palace. Performances have got gradually worse. It is worth bearing in mind that we could have easily beaten Chelsea and Man United on another day, even with the lack of style of play. I doubt City and Real will be hammering long balls and playing with low blocks either, so maybe we might actually get a bit more joy against them.

The Frankfurt game should have stopped the rot. We all know we can be incredible going forward but we are so predictable and something really needs to change. We’ve not seen any sign of that change. Three huge games coming now. If Slot can’t get a tune out of these players then that’s on him

I’m not calling for Slot out. Especially not on the back of this game. I don’t really care about the league cup, it’s like a bonus if you’re a big club and an achievement if you have no chance of the big ones. I don’t think sacking the manager makes sense unless you’ve a better one lined up. I’m just struggling to see Slot as the same manager as last year.
